Chapter 23

" I love you " I say looking in to her beautiful eyes.

" I love you too" she says looking sad. I have to come back for her I loved the way it sounded her telling me that she loved me.

When I was younger up till I was 9 years old my dad would beat me and tell me I'm worthless and that no one would ever love some one as ugly as me every day of my life it was hell and the worst was seeing him beat my mom and I wasn't strong enough to do anything. I cried every time I thought about him but now when I look back on him all I feel is anger but a greater love for my girl the one who saw me as a 'sexy face' and every time she said she loved me it made my heart leap out of my chest I really did love her with all of my heart I couldn't imagine life with out her.

Allen and I drove to town I looked at him Riley had forgiven him so I guess it was my turn to and apologize for punching him in the face.

" Hey man I'm sorry for punching you and not talking to you these past few days " I say giving him a slight smirk then returning my eyes to the road.

" It's ok man I understand why you punch me. I'm sorry I shot your girl I'm just stupid I'm never drinking again " he says looking down he looked like this hole thing was beating him up pretty bad he was hurting on the inside.

" Hey if she forgave you then there's no reason to be down"

" Thanks man ". We ride in silence till we reach the doctors office which take 30 minutes to get there Riley's grandma wrote us a list of things we'll need. Pulling right in front of the small doctors office in the handicap spot not like it matters there's no one around and the town looks trashed cars parked every were a few dead bodies laying in the ground beginning to rot. We both carefully head in to the building both of us back to back gun in hand find a patient room and open it up grabbing some of the stuff off the list mostly tools and stuff but there's also some medicine we need to find there was a small pharmacy in there and we went back there from what I can tell this place was empty quiet and untouched. I filled my bag with all the medicine in there and anything else we may need just in case I don't really want to make to many trips out here it's scary out here.

" Come on let's get out of here " I say looking back at Allen watching out.

" Alright dude " he pushes through the pharmacy door. We walk quickly to the front door but Allen trips on a chair in the waiting room.

" Hey man you ok " I say putting out a hand yeah just hurt my ankle.

I uses my hand and a table to get up slowly nocking over the lap on the table he was using to get up.

" You a mess man come on let's get out of here " but before I know it a zombie comes running out of the dicots office it was wearing scrubs so I'm guessing she was a nurse in the office.

" Come on man get up we got to go " she was closing in on us as I pulled him up dragging him.

He's pulled back from me and back on the ground as I see the freak sink her teeth in to his arm blood spills from him as I quickly pull out my gun shoot her in the head as she flys backwards off him with a thud.

" Allen! " I run to his side.

" Man you got to go " he says as a year leaves his eye.

" I can't leave you man " I say fighting off the tears.

" Go!" he shouts clenching his teeth together. The change was happening. He slowly pulled the gun out of his holster.

" Take care my friend " he says before planting a bullet in to his skull.

I hear moans coming from all around I get up and run to Riley's grandmas car hop in and speed off.

The tears fall from my eyes I've lost one of my closest friends like that. I beat my hands on the steering wheel. Pull your self together I need to get this stuff to Brice or is loss someone else on my watch and that wasn't happening. I drove as fast as this little car could go I drove down the long dirt road to get to the farm I come flying in slamming on the brakes grab the supply's and run in the house to the room were we put Brice it was him laying in the bed with Riley's grandma checking his eyes.

" Here " I say out of breath and puffy eyes.

" Thanks, were's Allen " she asks with sad eyes I just shake my head and walk out.

I run in to and empty room and break down almost as bad when Riley got shot or when I got beat as a kid this feeling I hated it I needed to see her but I didn't really want her to see me like this weak and pathetic I just sit there hugging my knees when I hear the door crack open to the small room I was in I didn't want to look up.

" It's ok baby " her sweet voice whispers in my ear wrapping her arms around me. She just sits with me holding me as I sob for a few minutes.

" Want to talk about it?" she asks gently in my ear.

I just nod I don't think I can speak with out it sounding like gibberish.

I lay back on the cold hard ground it feels nice on my hot skin she puts her head on my chest snuggling up to me I hold her.

" Thank you " she say looking down I know she probably feels terrible her best friend is hurt mine just died are life's were a mess.

" Come here " she says looking up smiling at me I know she wants a kiss and I love her kisses it was like a fire started in my chest. I lean forward planting my lips on to hers they were sweet and perfect.

" I want to show you something " she says standing up holding a hand out to me as my mind flashes back to Allen.

I slowly grab her soft small hands and I stand up next to her looking down at her. Still holding her hand she drags me to her room were the kids are on the floor talking. She goes it to her closet bending over to get something.

Her butt looked so nice I smile as I stare at it she put the leggings back on and I loved how they hugged her long legs. She pulls out a gun making sure the safety was one then put it in the front of her pant with my shirt tucked behind it she pulls it up I see her bandage slip out as she pulls my big shirt over the gun and walks back to me grabbing my hand.

" Come on " she says smiling pulling me out the front door. We walk hand in hand through the farm and then in to the woods she squeezes my hand tighter making my heart beat faster as she brings us to a stop I look out to see a beautiful little stream going through an opening in the woods we sit down on a fallen tree. We sit in silence just breathing in the cold air it was the most peaceful thing sense this whole zombie thing. Riley looks over at me all worried it's so cute I move over and kiss her on the cheek.

" I love you " she says quietly and that sends me to another planet it never gets old coming from her beautiful mouth.

I kiss her lips again not holding back putting everything in to it feeling, soul, power, and love. I want to make love to her but I know now isn't the time I end the kiss and she pouts. I just wink at her and she giggles.

" Want to know why I brought you here? "
