This is it, the Apocalypse

Chapter 8

I jolt awake after havering yet another nightmare ending in Sky being eaten. I breath heavy I'm sweating really bad.

" Hey you okay " Axel asks rubbing my arm.

" Yeah just a nightmare you need to go back to sleep, how you feeling? " I say putting my hand to his forehead. Crap.

" Your burning up " I say pulling the blanket off of him grab a flash light off the night stand and shine it down on him and slightly lift the bandage withs is red and inflamed.

" How long have you been up? " I say worried.

" Like an hour " he say wincing in pain.

" Why didn't you wake me! " I say louder.

" You looked so peaceful and you ..." he says biting down hard.

" She come on let's get you to the bathroom " I pull he up and he squeezes my hand.

" It's going to be okay " I say trying to assure myself.

I get him there and lay him on the ground.

" I'll be right back I need a lantern " I say rushing out of the room. I run in too the living room and fumble through the supply's.

" We're is it. There " I say to my self lifting it off the table running back too the bathroom. He lays there motion less. I run over too him turning the lantern on he's pale.

" Axel! Axel! wake up " I shake him nothing.

I took a CPR class last summer when I volunteered at the hospital. So I begin chest pumps.

" 1...2...3...4..5 " inhale I place my lips on to his and breath out as his chest fills with air. I repeat it 2 time.

" Ehhhh " Axel inhales.

" Oh my god " I sob and through my arms around him.

" I had a dream you kissed me " he says smiling but still looking sickly.

I roll my eyes and take off his bandages. I clean it out again place fresh gauss over his wound and wrap the ace bandage tightly around him again.

" You need to get some rest okay " I say looking in to his eyes. I help him up and walk him back to his room. I lay him down on the bed and tuck him in.

" I'm going to get you some water I'll be right back " I start running out but he grabs my hand and pulls me back.

" Why are you doing this? " he says weakly

" Because I don't know how many people are out there but I don't want any one else dead " I say walking out I run down the hall into the kitchen and grab a bottle of water.

" Riley " I hear Axel

I run as fast as I can into his room I slide in.

" What's wrong are you ok? " I say out of breath.

" Yeah can I get some aspirin though "

" You had me worried sick, yeah I'll get you some "

I go in to the bathroom and find some aspirin in the cabinet and go back in to his room. I grab 4 pills lift up his head and put the pills into his mouth and pour water in. He swallows heavy.

" You really need to get some rest " I say setting his head back on to his pillow.

" Okay "

I go to sit down to watch after him. In the chair across the room.

" Thank you Riley " he says looking up at me.

" No problem now go to bed " I say relaxing in the chair.

I'm pretty tired but I don't go to sleep. I just stay up watching Axel he was asleep eventually. I get up to go check what time it is, it's it's 5:30 the sun begins to rise. I go up stairs to check on Sky who's fast asleep I smile and walk back down stairs.

" What are you doing up? " Samuel asks walking up to me.

" Axel came back late last night he's all hurt and stuff"

" Really? He's back awesome " he says turning around going up to his room probably to tell Isaac.

I walk in to the bathroom to wash my hands and face. I look in the mirror I look pale and I've got bags under my eyes. I splash the cold water on to my face. Grab a towel and press my face in to it.
