Chapter 35

My mother and grandma lead us in to the tent were the army men are spread out checking bags, making groups, making records, and other stuff.

We walk up to a table were they take our names and how many are in our group.

Next we are escorted to a table and medal detector.

"Please place any medal objects including weapons in to the bin then walk through " the soldier says rushing us I remove the gun front my pant and put my bag in the bin and walk through the detector.

" Clear " a man on the other side say handing me my bag after inspecting it.

" My gun please " I say putting my hand out to the soldier.

" No weapons on the helicopter " he states plainly.

" What? " I say about to get into a heated argument.

" Riley listen to him " my mom says shaking her head.

I exhale loudly and roll my eyes. As I wait on the other side for the rest of the group.

" Hey were ok see nothing to worry about " Axel says poking my side. I just elbow him and roll my eyes.

" Someone has an attitude " he says laughing.

" Do not " I state flatly.

You better no say it. I think in my head.

" Do. Too. " I say adding emphasis smiling lightly.

" Do not " I say frustrated.

" Do too " he says cheesing hard.

" Do not " I say even louder.

" Do.. "

" Will you to quit it " my mom says rubbing her temples.

We go through a few more security stations and then are put into groups to board the helicopter.

" Okay the helicopters come every twenty minutes and all go to the same place, a safe haven out west once the copter is here the first group will bored then so on and so forth. " The solder states like he has been saying it all day.

" Okay thank you " my mom says as we all get in a close group.

" Okay the Carter's, Sam, Isaac, and Jake will be getting on the first one and the rest will get on the second. Ok. " My mom says shaking her head looking around to all of us.

I pull the twins and Jake to the side for second to talk with them.

" You guys are going to be fine we are right behind you okay " I say trying to give a smile. This was the part I was most worried about.

" Yeah we will be fine and we'll you you soon " Sam says smiling.

I pull them in for a quick hug and squeeze them tight.

They were my family. All of them were, maybe even Hannah. They are all I have and I couldn't have it any other way.

Axel wraps is arms around my waist and kisses the top of my head as we watch the first group board the helicopter I wave to them until the are no longer visible.

" Only 20 minutes " Axel whispers in my ear.

" Only 20 minutes " I say back to him breathing out.
