This is it, the Apocalypse

Chapter 5

I begin to cry again hugging him. I pull away quickly and walk out of the bathroom. I can't let my self get distracted. I hug Sky and calm down.

" I m super tired " I say to Jake

" There's a room on the second floor the first on the left there's two beds in there "

" Okay thanks " I say getting up Sky follows up the stairs.

I fall on to the bed and fall asleep instantly. I wake up a few hours later from a terrible nightmare. I hug my knees and shake. I look over to see Sky fast asleep and calm. I smile a little then get up to grab some water from down stairs.

I fumble through the dark to the kitchen and finally find a glass fill it with the water from the sink and sit up on the cool granite counters just thinking.

" Hello? " I here a whisper.

" Yeah it's me Riley " I whisper back

" Oh ok good it's me Axel " he whisper walking closer

He fiddles around the kitchen probably looking for a glass too.

" There in that one " I say pointing even though you can't see a thing.

He get it and fills his glass and sits next to me.

" Can't sleep? " he whispers in my ear.

" At first I was ok but then I kept having these horrible nightmares "

" Same "

We just sit there drinking water in silence. The moon was big and bright throughout the windows. It seemed perfect. But it wasn't there was danger all around.

I slide my hand over to his and hold it. He looks at me.

" I'm going to do what I can to protect you and your sister "

" Thank you Axel "

"What time is it ?" I ask wondering about Jakes parents.

He looks down at his watch and pushes a button a light comes on that reads. 3am.

" What about Jakes parents? "

" I don't know " he says stroking the top of my hand with his thumb.

I feel so safe with him.

" We'll I better go check on Sky and see if she's all right " I say freeing my hand, setting my glass down, and getting of the counter.

" Ok " he says as I begin to walk of. He then grabs my hand.

" Goodnight Riley " he says as his words echo throughout my mind.

" Night Axel " I say looking up at him.

I walk up the stairs to see Sky sleeping peacefully and calm as before. I smile and crawl in to my bed and get under the covers. I stare at the ceiling for a while then fall asleep.

~Dream~

Axel was with me in the woods. I hear a snap of a branch and wrap my arms around him squeezing tight.

All of the Sudden he squeezes me tighter I look up and he had turned it hurt I Tried to brake free but I could not. I looked in to his eyes not longer beautiful blue but like a dirty gray. All of the sudden. I hear a scream it was a Sky. " Sky, Sky! " I call out.

" Riley! Help! "

I try to brake free I try to pull my arms away I start kicking but it's doing nothing.

I see her, Sky being dragged on the ground by a group of 'zombies' they stop right in front of me and begin to sink there teeth into her.

" No, no!!! Stop!! "

~Dream over~

I jolt up and Sky's not there I begin to panic I run down stairs and see her standing there with the boys eating pop-tarts. I run up to her and hug her as tight as I can.

" I'm so sorry " I say into her ear.

" It's ok Riley just calm down " she says rubbing my back.

I pull away to see everyone starring at me. I take a deep breath.

" Good morning " I say trying to reinsure my self.

I get a scattered 'Good morning' back.

" Someone's lost it " Jake says putting a hand beside his mouth but saying it loud.

" Shut up " Axel says smacking him on the back of the head.

" So you want some breakfast " Axel says offering me a pop-tart.

" No thanks I'm not hungry "

" You sure? "

" Yeah "
