This is it, the Apocalypse

Chapter 37

We settle in with the rest of our group getting sleeping bags and food. We sit around a fire pit right out side the warehouse. " Are we going to stay here forever? " Sky asks looking to me. " I don't know " I say with a smirk, but honestly not knowing I'm worried.

After hearing that man "DONT
TRUST THEM" I've been very precious listening carefully to word around camp keeping a watchful eye.

" I'm going to run to the bathroom really quick " I say looking around my group and then standing up.

I walk it to a side entrance of the warehouse and pass by family's that look like they have been through utter hell.

Through the main room there is a small hallway on the left side there are lights hanging from the ceiling real dim and give off a green glow. I find the door mark female and give a slight nock before walking in. In the small bathroom is a mirror sick toilet and a lantern on the floor.

I look I'm the mirror at my dirt covered sleep deprived self turn on the cold water that comes out slowly splashing water on my face rubbing away at the filth. "Don't trust them" I say in the mirror. What did he mean was he just crazy?

I ran the water through my hair and face several times then sink to the floor. Grabbing a towel I push my face into it and sit in the silence.

"Thump-thump, thump-thump" on the door. "Sorry" I say getting up and unlocking the door. I walk out to see Axel standing in the door way.

"Hey you" I say giving a fake smile. I fulling walk out of the bathroom shut the door and lean back on the wall. "Hey" he says putting his hand on the wall beside my face giving me a kiss on the cheek. "You want to find a place to talk" he says practically reading my mind I nod as he grabs my hand interlocking fingers sending tingles down my spine.

We walk around looking for a private place he opens a door that has a ladder that goes straight up to the roof. "Shall we?" He asks pointing up. "We shall" I say smiling at him. "Lady's first" he says bowing and moving aside for me to climb up.

There aren't that many steps to reach the top which is a hatch I open it slowly peeking out to the roof of the building. "Wow" is all I could say looking out unto the night sky. I open the hatch fully and set it down gently. "Wow is right" Axel says coming out of the hole and onto the roof we sit down together as our hands join again.

We sit in this blissful silence for a little while laying back staring at the stars. "So tell me what's going in through that beautiful mind" he says not looking away from the stars. "I don't know, I'm so confused about this place" I say truthfully. "What do you mean?" He says looking to me. "I just can't see my staying in this place forever I just don't know" I say holding back a small glint if fear in my stomach.

"I just want you to now that were ever in this world you are I will always want to be" he raps his arm around me as I snuggle into him. "Like wise" I say baring my face in his chest. "Is this about what that guy said" he says moments later.

"Yes" I say breathing out. " I can't stop thinking about it" I say sitting up. "Me neither, but he was probably really crazy and if anything funny is going down even if I get the slightest hint we are getting out of here" he says siting up with me.

I shiver slightly as a cool wind blows by. "Come on let's get some rest" he says getting up helping me. I look up at him in the eyes " I love you " I say before giving him a passionate kiss on the lips. We both pull back " I love you too " he says grabbing my hand walking me back to the hatch.

We get to the bottom of the latter and Axel opens the door slowly peeking around.

" Clear " he says pulling on my hand as we walk out of the doorway.

We tiptoe down the hall way being extra precious. We get out if the secluded part if the ware house and into the main room many people lye sleeping on the floor some awake must having just arrived.

We make our way through maneuvering through the body's on the floor.

Finally we reach our corner in the room next to its a bit smaller with less people but a lot darker.

" Where were you to?" My mother asks worried.

" Just exploring " I say smiling settling down in my sleep bag next to Axel and sky.

" See anything cool" sky whispers too me.

"Maybe" I say smirking nudging her with my arm.

" I'll tell you tomorrow, but for now try and get some rest " I say covering her with the sleeping bag and kissing her forehead.

"Ok night sis" she says closing her eyes and snuggling into my mother.

I turn to Axel who yawns relaxing in to I tired and depressing look. I snuggle next to him and he smiles slightly.

" Try and get some sleep I keep watch for a little while " I say smiling at him as he nods and lies back.

"Good night Riley" he says with a tired voice.

" Night babe " I say back putting my head on his chest grabbing hold of his hand.
