This is it, the Apocalypse

Chapter 9

I exit the bathroom I think I was in there longer then I realize the sun is out more and everyone out in the living room except Axel and Skyler. I go check on Axel real quick who's stirring in his bed. Probably having I nightmare I lightly shake him as his eyes open and he's out of breath.

" Riley! " he says pulling me down to hug him.

" Hey you ok? "I say still hugging his feeling he warm chest.

" I am now " he says letting me go.

" Hey so you want to tell me what happened know " I say going to shut the door.

" I was putting all the guns in the bag when I looked out the window and saw a 'zombie' walking through your backyard towards the garage so I ran out side real quick when I got out there there were more " he says taking a deep breath.

" I grabbed my bat and cracked a few skulls but I lost it with one swing so I pulled out my knife walking back ward and fell on to it I slide back and hid until they were all gone the sun had set and they seemed to be gone but there was one and it chased me by the water I jumped in and swam here " he says steadying his breath.

" Hey you ok know " I put my hand on his head sliding his hair back his fever has gone down.

" I'm going to give you some more medicine " I say taking the lid off the the pills and water dropping 4 pills in his mouth and downing it with water. He swallows.

" Hey let me check out your boo boo " I say with a smile I lift the covers he's stopped bleeding and it's starting to heal.

" Come on let me put a new bandage on it and find you a clean shirt " I say helping him out off bed and hobble to the bathroom.

We walk in and I lay him on the floor again putting a towel under his head I take off all the bandages. Clean out his wound out some ointment on it and wrap in up.

" I'll be right back to grab you some clothes " I say walking out in to the living room.

" Hey when can we see him?" they all ask.

I grab his bag off of the table.

" Soon he just need to put some clothes on "

" Good " they say as I walk back to the bathroom.

I open the door right away and there he stands there naked.

I close my eyes shut the door and run out. I am so embarrassed I should have knocked. My face is hot and I'm all flustered.

" Can you give these to him? " I say throwing his bag at Isaac and running out. My face is red I'll never be able to look at him the same. I run in to My room Sky begins to wake up.

" Good morning " she says.

I'm still speechless and red.

" What's up? " she asks getting out of bed.

" Nothing go get some breakfast " I say rushing her out of the room. I shut the door. And sit on the floor. In front of my bed. Just staring and the floor I get up for a second and I open the ceiling to floor curtains. It was a balcony I open the glass door and sit on one of the plastic chairs out there.

It's cold but I don't mind I'm wearing a black tank too and running shorts. I pull my legs in and hug my self staring out on to the water. It almost feels as if it's perfect but the wind picks up a stale stench.

I don't even really pay attention to it just watch the sun over the water. I hear the glass door slide open and Axel walks out with a blanket.

" Hey can I sit with you?" he asks handing me the blanket. I cover my self up.

" It's a free country " I say not making eye contact.

" Don't be like that " he says I feel his eyes burn on my face.

" You like what you saw " he says laughing.

I exhale in disgust rolling my eyes.

" You know we would be even if I saw you naked " he says smiling.

He thinks this is a big joke but I'm not scared I slide the door open and shut the curtains and then the door.

" Fine " I say looking at him. I take off my shirt and my shorts I'm left in my bra and underwear. I'm not ashamed of my body so I un hook my bra and pull downs my under wear and stand there hands on my hips as he stared at me.

His face gets red.

" Happy know!" I yell throwing my clothes back on.

" I was just joking " he says with a slight smile.

" I wasn't. Did you like what you saw? " I say in a mocking voice.

We were even now. Did I regret flashing him maybe a little but I felt better, stronger.

"Yes " he says leaning in and kissing me. I pull away even though I could feel the fireworks. And walked out.
