Chapter 36

It felt like the longest 20 minutes of my life, they were right thought they had that schedule down to a t. We all began boarding on to the helicopter. There were two rows facing each other four in each.
I got in first and strapped down my sister next to me, Axel across from me and Brice, Willow and Dametre all next to him my grandma began boarding when all off the sudden a gun went off from in the tent.
" What was that? " I scream over the sound of the helicopter.
" Please board now! " the soldier yells as my grandma hops on quickly and straps in my mother jumps on soon after. I see a deranged man run from the tent shooting every were. It wasn't a zombie, but a psyco running around screaming. " DONT TRUST THEM! " I'm guessing he's referring to the army but I was to worried about him shooting at us.
" Sir put your weapon down! " the soldier by the helicopter shouts.
The man doesn't listen but just runs faster towards us.
" Take off! " I scream to the pilot I grab my sister and pull her down to my lap in case he shoots at us.
The helicopter picks up off the ground and I see the man shoot the solder down killing him and then attempting to grab a hold of the landing skis. Luckily he falls to the ground knocking himself out.
My sister lie sobbing in my lap along with Willow and Dametre who look a little shaken up so does every one.
I grab a hold if Axels with my left and rub my sisters head with the other.
I look over the side of the copter to see a group of soldiers surround the man with there guns pointed at him. I exhale and close my eyes leaning back in.
" We'll be ok " I say breathing out adjusting into my seat.
" Yeah " Axel says smirking at me.
The rest of the ride is silent when we come upon what I guess to be a base.
" Alright we are arriving at our destination when we come to a stop please un board quickly and follow the officers below " the officer shouts over the roar of the engine.
The helicopter lands with a slight thud on the ground as we are rushed off the landing site.
" Were are they?" I ask impatiently looking around.
" Ma'am please follow us " a new officer with dark brown hair and olive green eyes, a very attractive officer.
" Okay " I say grabbing a hold of Axels hand and the rest of our group follows along on a line. We follow the officer in to a building were people are lined up at tables were they are passing out food and blankets. We keep walking and continue on through a room of cots and sleeping bags. Were we see the rest the other half of our group eating and sitting on the floor.
"Hey" I say running up to the twins hugging them both.
" We made it " Axel says coming up behind me joining in the hug.
