Call Me Chase

Chapter 6

Chase's POV:
I woke up laying in Drew's arms. His mom was home and they were talking about homecoming, and for a brief moment i forgot all of the drama that is my life now. I stretched and mumbled a tired "hello" while rubbing my eyes.
Drews Mom (Sofia): Oh good morning Chase did you have a nice nap?
I gave a soft laugh and nodded.
Drew: there's pizza on the counter if you want some
Sofia: Drew be a gentle man and get it for him
Chase: its okay im not quite hungry yet
Sofia and Drew both nodded and i looked over at Drew whispering
"So do we tell her?" I guess i wasnt very quiet because Sofia chimed in "Tell her what?" I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out, so Drew told her for me
"I got chase pregnant. He's six weeks in" His mother's smiled turned to confusion. Maybe she thought we were joking. She looked at me and i nodded. She didnt seem thrilled but she her face softened.
"Congratulations you too. Chase that baby is going to be very loved and its always welcome here"
I sighed a breath of relief and got up to hug her. "Thank you" i mumbled into her shirt. I was crying again. God I've cried a lot today. Suddenly i remembered my moms words. I looked at Sofia and in a soft voice i managed to say between sobs "can i stay here tonight? My mom told me not to go home tonight" I was crying harder now. Sofia hugged me tight "of course chase you are always welcome and if need be you are welcome to move in."
I felt blessed in the moment but hungry. Guess it makes sense i havent eaten much today and im eating for two.
"Im going to get some pizza now" i let out a small laugh between tears. And walked into the kitchen. After i finished eating Sofia led me to the guest room upstairs, it was in between her's and Drew's rooms. She opened the door and revealed the room had just one twin bed and a dresser.
"We dont have guests often. But this can be the nursery"
Hearing those words made it feel that much more real. I was really having a baby. This was actually happening and even though it was scary i felt excited to meet the baby already. And i felt so lucky that i had this support system from Drew and Sofia. I knew this baby would be loved even if my mom couldn't accept it. And this was more than i could ask for. I leaned agaisnt the door frame and smiled. I put my hand on my stomach and I imagined the baby as a toddler running around in this room, playing with toys. Sofia smiled me as a tear rolled down my cheek
"I love it" it was barley audible but she heard me. She put her hand on my shoulder "i did too" she said i looked at her and smiled back
"This was Drew's nursery. But he moved to the bigger room. And soon this room will be his baby's nursery" she smiled at me and i just kept imagining the happy family scene. Drew was going to be a better dad than mine right?

There is going to be a few time jumps after this. Typically each day is going to have a couple chapters but we arent going to go through the next 7 and a half month's of Chase's pregnancy day by day.
