Call Me Chase

chapter 18

Chase's POV:
I got up at 6:00a.m. about half an hour before Drew. I didnt have class but i wanted to finish up the nursery wall. I had set up one of the cribs there was a bunch of baby stuff in it. My dad was coming with the girls at 11 so i wanted to be done by about 8 so i could shower and change and prepare some food and stuff for the girls to do.
I didnt have much left to paint so it only took me about an hour and i finished at seven. I rinsed off the brushes and put everything away and hopped into the shower. After getting out i put on something more comfy and made sure Drew had left for school. I called Shadow and she came running to me. We went down stairs and i served her breakfast before i started my own. I just had cereal so that i had time to prepare for everyone coming over. I finished by 8:30 and decided to bake a batch of muffins. I had some box mixes for blueberry, chocolate, and pumpkin muffins. I didnt know what the girls like so i made all three. They made about a dozen muffins each. I finished the muffins at about 10. They would be here in awhile so i had shadow go upstairs behind the baby gate while i cleaned up. There wasnt much to clean so i got to relax for about 20 minutes before i got a phone call from my dad saying they were 5 minutes away. I brought Shadow downstairs and put her in the kennel. I wanted to kennel train her anyway but i didnt know how the girls were with dogs. As i got Shadow inside and closed the kennel the door rang.
"Coming!" 
I ran to the door and opened it and the girls both wrapped my in a hug almost instantly. Took me a second to process but i hugged them back.
Chase:"Its nice to meet you guys." I shook hands with my dad's girlfriend with a smile.
Chase:"So who's who?" I laughed softly as did everyone else
Hannah: "Liliana has the blue bow and Allison has the yellow bow"
Chase: "good to know, whats youre name?"
Hannah: "My name is Hannah. Youre Chase right? Youre trans?"
She said it with a slight attitude and my heart sunk. I knew we weren't going to get along either.
Chase: "Im human"
I think my dad felt the tension the already rose between us and nudged Hannah she sighed and proceeded to apologize.
Lucas: "So wheres Shadow? Is she around here?"
Chase: "Oh, yeah. I have her in her kennel i didnt know if the girls were allergic or if they were good with dogs"
Allison: "You have a puppy!!"
Liliana: "How cool!!!"
Chase: "I do have a puppy do you guys want to play with her?"
Allison&Liliana: "can we pleasee!"
We all looked up at my dad for approval and he nodded. The girls jumped up and cheered and followed me to Shadow's kennel.
Chase: "Shes still a puppy so shes really hyper so you have to be careful with your pretty dresses"
Allison: "okay"
Liliana nodded and i let Shadow out of the kennel. And the girls ran around playing with her. I called in Hannah and my dad so we could sit and chat.
Hannah: "so you live with your boyfriend? Right?"
She picked up a photo from the coffee table. It was of Drew and me. Sofia had taken it at the park. We were playing on the swings. She caught one where we were holding hands at our highest point.
I couldnt stans her attitude but i smiled and nodded
Chase: "Yeah him and his mom"
Hannah: "Youre knocked up right?"
Chase: "I dont appreciate you judging me like that. You have no right"
She placed the photo down and looked at me
Hannah: "Listen you arent the princess got it? I can do what i want. And if i want to ask questions i can"
Chase: "Not in my house. Dad i dont want to be like this but if your girlfriend cant cut it out she has to leave"
Lucas: "Shes not actually my girlfriend baby. I brought her to spend time with the girls and to meet you"
Hannah: "You got no right to tell her"
Lucas: "like hell I dont. Hes my kid"
Chase: "Tell me what?"
Hannah: "Dont-"
Lucas" We've broke up awhile ago. I have custody of the kiddos. I wanted to come for awhile but she wouldnt let me bring the girls. But since i have custody she cant stop me"
Chase: "Oh"
Lucas: "Chase i have to ask you something. Would you be okay with me living out here? In this city?"
A smile spread across my face
Chase: "Youre moving out here??"
Lucas: "Me and the girls have been eyeing a cozy home with a big yard. Its actually across the street."
Hannah: "You never told me that!"
Lucas: "I didnt have to."
Hannah: "Youre supposed to let me see them"
Lucas: "Hannah youre not allowed to be alone with them. You can visit when you want"
Hannah: "Im leaving give me the room key"
Lucas: "No, you can leave but youre not going to the room and messing with everything"
Hannah: "Girls come say goodbye mommy has to go"

The girls came in and gave her a hugs. The girls seemed pretty distant and it was sad.
Allison: "bye mommy"
Liliana: "are you going home or to the room"
Hannah: "Home. Bye girls love you"
Lilliana&Allison: "Okay bye! Love you too"
The girls turned around and started playing with the dog. That mustve burned. I hope to be a better parent than her
