Chapter 29

Chase's POV:

I walked up to my mom and dad talking.
Lucas: "Just act right Jena, talk to him"
Chase: "talk to who?"
Jena<Chase's mom>: "You actually.."
Chase: "hi mom"
Jena: "Hi Chasid-Chase..."
Chase: "I didnt expect you to come.."
Jena: "I wanted to apologize.. I want to. Be apart of your life. I want to be apart of your children's lives."
Chase: "it really hurt.. the way you treated me. I felt really alone.I needed you there. And you just tossed me out like I was trash"
Jena: "Im sorry I just I needed time to process I was so confused and -"
Chase: "I was confused too mom. You were supposed to be there to protect me. Even if you were confused too. You should have been by my side. we should have been figuring things out together. But you left me alone "
My voice broke as I started crying
Chase: "And then I find out you kept me away from my dad all these years! How many times did I ask you to see him and you told me that he couldn't see me he was too busy. And when I got older you told me that I couldn't see him he wanted nothing to do with me. And when he started sending me letters you hid them from me until i found them. And when he kept sending my letters I found out I had sisters. And you told me that I still couldn't see him because if he really loved me he would send more than just letters and phone calls he would come see me. But that wasn't true. You didnt want him to see me. You didnt want to be the bad guy. That backfired didnt it"
Jena: "Baby Im- Im so sorry"
She was crying too now.
Chase: "You let me hurt all my life mom. Why?"
She pulled me into a hug and i hugged back, crying into her shoulder
Chase: "why?"
Jena: "Im sorry Chase. I was wrong. I never wanted you to know what happened I didnt want you to think less of me. I didnt want you to think it was okay to do the things I did because its not okay. It hurts the other person badly. And the only one who looses is you"
She let go, she was looking toward my dad now
Jena: "Because one day you realize you messed up. But its too late, they left. One day you find out they moved on and you cant tell them you miss them youve waited to long..."
She turned back to me
Jena: "I lied to you so long because I was afraid to face him, I never stopped loving your dad I just made some really bad choices while I was drunk.."
She turned back to my dad her arm around my shoulder
Jena: "I was drunk and bored.. and your father wasn't there. But thats not an excuse. I shouldn't have done what I did. And I have never stopped regretting my decision..."
Lucas: "Jena.."
Jena: "I know things cant be normal but can we talk? About everything.."
My dad nodded and they walked off somewhere inside of the house.
Drew calmed me down and we continued the party. After about 2 hours we opened gifts and everyone said their goodbyes.
Drew: "Hey, where did your parents go? Guess they had a lot to talk about"
Chase: "Thats true they never came back down. Im going to go check on them"
Drew: "okay"
I left Drew with Alli and Lili and went upstairs. I assumed they were in my dad's room. I knocked softly on the door and started opening it
Chase: "Is everything oka-"
Jena: "Wait dont-"
Chase: "Oh my-"
I turned back around, they had gotten up to a little more than talking. But at least they both had pants on.
Chase: "Well, I guess talking went well?"
They both put their shirts on and came out
Lucas: "dont be a smartass"
I smiled and we went down stairs joining the rest of the family. Everyone was on good terms, so to speak. I was glad
