Call Me Chase

Chapter 30

*Chase is 27 weeks pregnant*
Chase's POV:

I woke up relatively early due to morning sickness, brought to me by my oh so beautiful children who were due in 12 weeks. I really couldn't believe how soon it was, although it seemed like to be a million years away. It still feels like I found out yesterday. Drew was on winter break so we've got to spend lots of time together and it was nice. Today is Christmas eve and I have never been more excited. I had Drew with me, my dad, my sisters, Sofia and even my mom coming over later today. We were going to have a big happy celebration and open Christmas presents at 12am on the dot. Thats how me and mom have done it my whole life and I wanted to keep the tradition alive.
My parents were on good terms as of lately. Me and Drew swear theyre back together but they keep denying it. Either way Im glad to have them both here for the first time in as long as I could remember.
Since I was up early I decided to start some baking. I didnt feel like putting so much work into it so I just opted to use the stand mixer. I looked over at the clock, which flashed "7:38 a.m." I put the cookies into the oven and started breakfast, I'd start dinner around 1. So that itd be ready by 6. I was making a ham and a few other side dishes. Sofia and my mom are supposed to help me with it. I heard the sound of Shadow's paws racing up the stairs, followed by Drew's heavy footsteps.
"Man Shadow, how come you never sleep in" Drew grumbled, earning a laugh from me. Drew walked into the kitchen pouring food into Shadows bowl and smiled at me
"Good morning sunshine" i mocked as he wrapped an arm around my waist
"Goodmorning" he smiled as he kissed me gently.
"Do you know what time Sofia is coming over?"
"She said around 12, why?"
"Because I was thinking about starting dinner at 1 and just wanted to know if she'd be here."
"Oh okay. What about your mom?"
"Shes coming around 1:30 although knowing her she'll be here at like 11." I laughed and continued to prepare breakfast.
"So what is Chef Chase making for us this fine winter morning?"
"Well Im starting off with a base of greek yogurt, I am going to top it off with granola and fresh fruits."
"And will you be serving it with a side Chef?"
"As a matter of fact I am. This fine meal is going to be served with only the finest English muffins in the pantry and your choice of coffee or a strawberry banana smoothie"
"Sounds delightful. Well you heard it here first folks. This is what the meal of the day is here at the Wilcox-Green residence"
I laughed at the goofy grin Drew had on his face. I was so glad to have him here.
"Babe can you go get everybody up for breakfast? Im almost done, just need to finish the smooties"
"Sure thing Chef"
He winked at me and made his way out of the kitchen. By the time I was done and had set everything at the table he came back down with my dad and the twins trailing behind him
"Morning sleepy heads" i teased as everyone sat at the table
"Morning" they all responded in unison which made me laugh. Its a good day, I couldnt imagine how it could get better
