What Does Family Mean?

YASMINES P.O.V—

There was 5 minutes until the bell was going to ring and Ethan and I ran through the double doors so we wouldn't be late for class.

The second I came into the school I noticed Allison talking to Zack and they were whispering.
"When did them two get so close?" Ethan said and he stared at Zack.
"I have no idea." I said and I walked over to Allison.

"Hey Ally." I smiled and they both turned around to me with wide eyes.
"Just don't say anything." I heard Zack mumble to Allison and he quickly walked off before I could say anything.
Huh?

"Say anything about what?" I asked.
"Oh nothing."
I knew Allison was lying because every time she lied, she couldn't keep a straight face.

I didn't know what they were talking about but I had a really big feeling what it was about....

"Please tell me you didn't sleep with Zack." I rolled my eyes at her.
"Wait wha-No!" She quickly answered.

"Then what were you guys taking about?" I asked again.
"Okay fine we almost did-"
"I knew it!" I yelled and I burst out laughing.

"Okay But you gotta admit, he is really hot." Allison nodded and I made a disgusting facial expression.
"Ally No! Why would you say that!" I cringed.

"Come on Yaz, why would you say no to a guy like him?"
"I don't know but Zack doesn't seem like the type of person I'd go out with, he's like a....brother figure." I turned around and saw Zack standing by his locker.

"You got that right." Allison mumbled.
"Got What right?" I asked and she started stuttering.
"I didn't say anything-" She got interrupted by the bell.

Ally and I started walking to English class.
"So How was it with Ethan last night." She winked at me.

"Okay But it's a secret." I whispered and told her to come closer.
".....None of your business." I told her and I giggled.

"You're such a bitch Yaz!" Allison nudged me.

We walked into the class and I saw the teacher handing in all of the projects.
Shit, I forgot about the project!

Ethan was already sitting at his desk and so was Grayson so I snuck into my seat without the teacher seeing me.
"Miss Cortez I'd love to be reading your assignment over Lunch." Mrs Summers spoke out and I had a feeling that she already knew I didn't have it.

"Why would you want to read her project for, she hasn't even done-ohhhhh." Nick finally clocked on.
"Nick I swear you're the dumbest person ever." Caleb laughed.

"If I'm so dumb then why are we in the same classes?" Nick answered back to him.
Caleb scoffed "Because you got into a fight with Shawn Bilskey so you had to move out of that class."

"This guy makes makes Allison seem clever." Grayson laughed and so did Ethan.

I couldn't help but crack a smile and Allison knew I was so she kicked my chair from the back.

"What did you say?!" Nick was about to get up from his chair.

"They didn't say anything." Zack spoke up, trying to defend Grayson.
Great, now he's getting involved.

"Listen dude we don't need you to stick up for us, we can handle our own battles." Ethan told Zack.
"And hows that working out of ya?" Zack chuckled.

"You Fucking-"
"Ethan don't." I grabbed his arm, trying to stop him from doing anything.

"No Ethan, you're gonna need to stand up....to walk to the principals office. Zack, Ethan, Grayson, Nick and Yasmine, GET OUT OF MY CLASSROOM!" Mrs Summers screamed at all of us and we all groaned.
