"Dream, you need to stop staying up all night," A voice said, luring Dream out of his sleep and back into the real world.
Blue was poking his skull with his finger, making a 'boop' sound every time he did. Dream yawned and pulled his hand away, sitting up from the floor as he rubbed his stiff back.
"How did I end up on the middle of the floor?" Dream asked, blinking as he rubbed the lack of sleep out of his eye sockets.
"You fell asleep trying to get to your bed, I think!" Blue said, clapping, "But it's time to get up, we're going to see a spy off!"
"A spy? What?"
Dream thought he heard wrong. King Asgore never cared what the other Kingdoms were doing. he only cared about having enough weaponry to kill them all if a war happened. He surely must've heard Blue wrong, they wouldn't be sending a spy out of the Kingdom.
"Yeah, a spy!" Blue confirmed Dream's non-spoken questions, flashing him a large grin as he helped up the skeleton, "It's the girl from the library, she's going to be a spy in another Kingdom since they've been gathering in meetings without us!"
"But we never even attempt to show up to the one's beforehand, nothing suspicious about that..." Dream grumbled.
"He's a tad crazy in the brain part of his body, but I'm sure he has a good reason!"
"A tad? Are you sure about that?"
"Anyway, let's go get some yummy breakfast! How about some cereal for you?"
Wow, this was unexpected. Not only was a spy being sent on a ship to another place, away from the Kingdom, and now Blue wasn't eating pop tarts.
Was he still dreaming, or was the world ending?
And with that thought in mind, he was forced out of his room and down the hall.
~~~~~~
Never mind.
Everything's fine.
Blue had dashed into his own room, Dream being dragged behind him, to find that the 'cereal' the Jury member had in mind was just broken up pop tarts floating in a bowl of milk.
"I wanted to mix things up a bit!" Blue said, standing next to the breakfast and waiting for the feedback he was expecting with every dish he made.
"It's very creative," Dream pointed out.
"Isn't it!" Blue squealed happily, practically bouncing into a seat as he quickly picked up his spoon, "I want to enjoy it, but we have to leave soon to see off the spy, so no luck for me. Oh well."
"How much time until we see off the spy?" Dream asked.
"Ten minutes," Blue replied, taking a large bite of milk soaked pop tarts.
"And how did looking for Ink and Cross go?"
"... Not so good."
The room's happy atmosphere quickly vanished with the question and the answer, Blue and Dream looking down quietly at the table as they thought about the situation.
Cross and Ink were gone, possibly kidnapped by the most dangerous villains in the Kingdom that could challenge the King's dangerous reign. There was no signs of where they went, no evidence of anybody even breaking and entering. Just a discared bowl, and a lack of the two people that Blue had held close to his heart.
"Oh..." Dream said, frowning down at the table.
He hated everything about his life. He felt that his knowledge only resulted in driving people away from him, and he hated his perfect memory. It was true, Nightmare had left since he knew Dream would be able to get into school with his knowledge, which Dream would've happily given up the chance just to have Nightmare by his side again. Then, teachers were his only friends growing up, since all of the other students treated him like trash because of his intellect. It was only when he had gotten this job when he had made his first ever friends after Nightmare's disappearance.
