chapter 27

Chloe's pov.

It's around 12 pm now and we are still walking. "We should be halfway there, right?" aubrey asks stacie. Stacie thinks for a moment and then nods. "I think so. I'm not too sure but i think it." stacie says with a shrug. I hear a groan suddenly and turn around to see about fifteen walkers walking towards us. "Guys! I found some walkers!" i say. I pull out my knife and look behind me to see that the others also pulled out there knifes exept for emily. She already had her blade glove on. "There are fifteen walkers and only five of us. We need to split up!" aubrey says. Hailee shakes her head. "It's better if we stay together. If someone needs help then we can help them." hailee says. The walkers get closer and i groan in frustration. "Guys, they are getting closer! Decide what we are going to do now!" i say. Aubrey and hailee look at eachother and then aubrey thightens her jaw for a moment. "Stick together everyone!" she says. We stand next to eachother and get ready to charge towards the walkers. I grab my blade thightly in my right hand and glare at the walkers. "Ready?" aubrey asks us. We all nod. "Go!" she says. We all run towards the walkers and start to fight. I run towards the walker that is the closest to me and duck under its arms when it tried to grab me. I quickly push my blade in his skull and turn around. There is a walker way too close to me so i kick it behind its leg and stab it in the head. Two down. Thirteen more to go.

Stacie's pov.

I look at chloe and notice that she already took two walkers out. I took one out and aubrey is about to kill a third. Emily and hailee both also killed one. Together we have killed five walkers wich means that there are still ten more to go. I run towards the next one and kick it in its stomach to make him fall. I push my blade in its head and look up. I liked it more when there weren't any walkers around us. "Gaah!" i look towards the sound and notice that a walker creeped up behind chloe. I rush towards her and pull the walker off before it had the chance to bite her. She falls on the ground and sits there for a moment while i kill the walker. I look up and notice that there are only five more walkers left. The others can handle them. I need to make sure that chloe is fine! I look at chloe and notice that she is holding the back off her head. I rush towards her and kneel down next to her. "Are you okay?" i ask her. Chloe looks at me and smiles. "Thanks to you i am. I hit my head when i fell tho." chloe says. She pulls her hand back andi notice that there is blood on it. Shit! She must have a head wound! I quickly grab my scarf and gently grab her head to look for the head wound. I use my scarf to bind it around her head to make sure that there is pressure on the wound. "Thanks. I feel like a pirate now." chloe says. I shake my head and chuckle. I look up when i hear the others running towards us. It looks like all the walkers are dead. They all kneel down and look at chloe in worry. "Are you okay, chlo?" aubrey asks. Chloe smiles and nods. "Stacie saved me. I just have a little head wound because i fell but i don't even feel dizzy so there is nothing to worry about." chloe says. Aubrey looks at her for a moment and then nods. "Are you good to start walking again?" aubrey asks chloe. Chloe stands up and nods. "Lets head towards that town and head back home as soon as we can. We only have five days left." chloe says. We all nod and start to walk again.

Shadow's pov.

I slap the back off runner his head. "You stupid boy!" i whisper loadly. "They could have died just now! You are lucky that they at least know how to take care of themselfs and eachother!" i say. Runner looks quilty and raises his hands. "I'm sorry, shadow! I really am! I just couldn't help it. I'm so tired." he says. I sigh and shake my head. He was supposed to keep watch on the girls while i went to find us something to eat. I just got back to notice fifteen walkers about to attack the group. Apperently runner got tired and decided to take a nap. I understand that he is tired but we have a mission! Our goal right now is to make sure that these girls stay safe until they are back home. Then we need to team up with silence again and catch that horrible man who is responsible for all of this. Our sensei thought us that revenge wasn't the answer, but can you really call it revenge? Sure, it's his fault that most off our friends and familie died. And yeah we want to get revenge for that. But is it really revenge if we were supposed to kill him anyway? This will just make it a bit easier.
