I was about to step out of the house to go to work, just like I had been for the last two days, when I heard Armaan call me from behind. I turned to see him running down the hallway to catch up to me.

"Where are you going?"

"To work," I held my laptop case across my chest, watching him closely. He was up to something.

"Can we talk?"

"I have to go right now, I have a meeting," I lied.

"Can I meet you for lunch?"

"I won't be home until dinner."

"Dessert after dinner?"

"Armaan," I warned.

"Just a five minute talk Naina, come on. Pleaseeeeee," he folded his hands in front of me.

"Alright fine. Bye," I turned to walk out but of course he wasn't going to let me do that without putting a stupid smile on my face.

"Have a good day Nainu, I'll miss you," he cooed.

"Brat," I called over my shoulder and he pretended to get offended.

It's going to be a long day.

I got home super late. Believe it or not, trying to understand secret mafia language is sometimes really hard. I had told Safiyana to go on with dinner without me. The team just picked up mini pizzas for everyone.

I brought my dinner home, deciding I'd eat it comfortably in my PJs and with some Netflix. It wasn't until my phone with Armaan's text. I sighed and told him I'd meet him in a minute downstairs. Before I could even put my phone down, there was a knock on the balcony door. I looked over to see Armaan's arm tapping the glass door. I chuckled opening the door.

He jumped over from the window of the next door room into my balcony. I applauded his slick cat-like skills.

"Pizza?" he noted, looking over at the place I was about to sit on the floor for dinner.

"I didn't get a chance to eat," I shrugged sheepishly.

"Then eat first."

"No it's okay, let's talk," I gestured for him to take a seat.

He walked over to the pizza box and sat down, nodding for me to sit down with him. I took a seat across from him and opened the box, handing him a slice. My face must've told him not to argue because he took it silently.

We ate in peaceful silence before I told him to talk.

"Shaadi ka kya irada hai Naina? (What are your thoughts about marriage Naina?)," he leaned against the bed's footboard.

"Kyun? Kaunsi ladki ko phasa ke aaye ho? (Why? Which girl did you rope in?)," I chuckled.

"Kaash patt jaati. Tum toh aati hi nahi ho haath mein (I wish I could. But I just can't get a hold of you)," he smirked.

"Alright come to the point now," I shook my head at his antics.

"Why won't you let me talk about marriage with you? I know your parents are out of the question but I'll have my parents talk to anyone you want if you don't want me directly talking about this," he said seriously.

I sighed. If only he knew.

"Armaan, what do you know about me?"

"Why type of question is that?" he chuckled, but I sensed the nervousness in his tone anyway.
