8. Cat Fight

"Guys look-look outside!!!!" Hawkeye called, motioning everyone over to the glass wall. Speed jumped out of his seat and knocked literally everything they had in his lap  onto the floor. Theo vaulted himself over the back of the couch to get to the window. "Are the cats at it again?!"

"Ohhh yeah!" Hawkeye said with mischief in her voice. "Is Neko finally back?" Wiccan asked, calmly making his way over to the glass. "Yep and Zelda does NOT look happy with him." Hawkeye answered. 

"He was supposed to come back with this week's hunt, he looks empty." Speed noted. You followed Ms. America over to the window to see what was going on. 

You noticed two cats across the lawn near to forested part of the island. Ms. America squinted hard before she let out a gasp.  "Wait a minute, he-HE HAS A RAT TAIL HANGING OUT OF HIS MOUTH!" 

"NO!" Theo shrieked. 

"YES!" Ms. America confirmed.

"Not Neko!!!" Speed whined.

"Wait a second, which one is Neko?!" You asked, extremely confused with the situation.

"We have been watching this gang of cats for about a month now. Zelda is America's favorite, she's the white one with the orange tail. Neko it the black on with a white belly, he's been sneaking around and going behind the packs back more often then not." Wiccan informed.

"There are more cats in the pack, Zock, Rachet, and Pheobe. But non of them compare to Chewie." Ms. America added. "You guys let Chewie lose on the island!?" You asked, noticing that was the name of Captain Marvel's cat.

"Not the Cheiwie you're thinkin of. The Captain's cat died a few years back, once we found out about the game we named her after Chewie because just like Chewie you do NOT want to get on his bad side." Wiccan informed.

"Yeah, last week she killed Jaqline because she only brought back half of her normal share, it wasn't her fault though, she lost the other half to a fox." Hawkeye sad sadly. 

"I hope Neko will be alright, she was Cassy's favorite." Theo muttered. "You guys have been watching these cats for that long?!" You exclaimed. "No but before we knew about the gang the cats lived here, Cassy always liked to play with them whenever we weren't training." Hawkeye answered.

"Neko is a surviver, don't worry about him." Speed told Theo, giving him a pat on the back

"ZELDA JUST POUNCED AT NEKO." Ms. America screamed. "WHAT?!" The rest of the group screamed while you tried to keep your heart inside your chest. 

"YEP, SHE DIDN'T HIT HIM BUT HE IS SCARED NOW." Hawkeye announced.

"Oh my goodness now they are staring each other down..." You said, squinting hard to see that cats across the grass. "Now Neko is leaving, I think he's out of the pack." Theo whispered.

"No no no, Neko is trying to go around Zelda!" Wiccan said, using his magic to float above everyone's heads. He wasn't short but compared to Theo he was vertically challenged.

"Get him, Zelda!!!!" Ms. America cheered. "Oh she sees him, she is NOT happy... NOW THEY ARE PACING IN A CIRCLE!!!" Hawkeye said like some kind of cat commentator. 

"Wait, they both just sat down but Zelda didn't actually fight Neko." Speed said with disappointment in his voice. "Eeh, Zelda doesn't care for violence much. Besides, losing Jaqline was hard on her." Ms. America informed. 

"Uh guys, look at the tree stump." Theo said, a hint of fear in his tone. 

"What is-GASP!!" Wiccan wheezed. 

"CHEWIE HAS BEEN HERE THE WHILE TIME!?!" Speed almost screamed.

"HOW DID WE NOT SEE HIM?!" You yelled, getting caught up in all this cat madness. 

"WELL HE BLENDS IN AND HE IS EVIL, THATS WHY HE'S THE BOSS." Hawkeye answered. 

"Oh my goodness he is coming out of the brush and into the grass!! He's glaring Zelda down this can't be good." Ms. America muttered. 

"Now Zelda is looking at the ground in failure. And Neko is runni-NEKO IS RUNNING?!" Theo exclaimed, doing a double take.

"HE NEVER RUNS!" Wiccan commented. 

"I KNOW!" Theo yelled, looking up at the floating boy. You eyes landed on Wiccan and you found yourself staring a little longer than you should have. You shook away the image of the cute boy and turned your attention back to the cats. 

"Chewie is going after him and he is moving FAST." Ms. America noted. 

"Run Neko run!!!!!" Speed cheered, starting to run in place at super speed. 

"Oh he's got him! He's got him!!!! Annnnnnnnnnd pounce!" Hawkeye said, making claws with her hands as if they were pouncing. 

The entire groups shrieked before Theo spoke up. "Rest in pieces Neko..." Everyone, including you, nodded as let a moment of silence pass. Then all at once, the Avengers went back to what they were doing. 

A flash of green and silver zipped around as Speed picked up all the food that had fallen on the floor. Theo climbed over the couch to resume his video game and Wiccan fluttered back down to the ground. America and Hawkeye both went to the kitchen to get grab some healthy snacks. 

"Alright people, I'm calling it a day." Hawkeye announced, taking a water bottle and an apple with her. "Me too." America agreed with a yawn. You blinked a few times as you watched them near the door. "Wh-It's only three in the afternoon."

Both girls stopped before Hawkeye turned around with a glare. "Your point is?" You let out a half scoff before making weird motions with your hands. "Well my point is that the day isn't even halfway over, why would you go to bed?" 

"Because I can." She barked before resuming her walk to the door. "Wait, what if a bad guy attacks." You whined, kind of hoping you would get to see some super hero fighting. "There are no more bad guys, the only thing you should be worried about is me when I don't get my sleep." 

With that last comment you decided it wasn't worth the battle so you let them leave. With a sigh you turned around to face the boys, all looking very amused. "You know, I'm surprised she didn't murder you." Wiccan commented.

"Yeah, there was this one time where I woke her up an hour early with my sped up music... She hunted me for three weeks after that." Speed added as he continued to fill his mouth with Cheeto puffs. 

"Wow... So I'm guessing you guys are going to go to bed too?" You asked shyly. "No, we go to bed like normal people." Wiccan assured. "Oh good, otherwise I was going to be bored out of my mind!" You confessed. 

The two brothers laughed before you heard Theo speak up. "We call those two girls 'cats' because they sleep more often than not." You nodded and let a small smile of amusement grace your lips. 

"So, Y/N right?" Wiccan asked, leaning back on the kitchen counter as he spoke. You simply nodded your head. "How long are you going to stay here?" He finished, receiving a shrug from you. 

"I don't know, I don't even know how I'm supposed to get home! Personally I'm fine with staying here forever, there's not that much back home for me and I could just tell my family I'm moving to a different country. But I know that I can't expect you guys to house me forever, that would be rude."

Wiccan's brown eyebrows knit together yet his eyes remained soft. "Well right now you are the person who is in charge of keeping our entire system of multiverses safe so I think the least we can do is give you a home." You laughed softly at his comment before nodded. "Right, I kind of forgot about that."

In the blink of an eye, Speed zipped in front of you with a cocky smile. "If you're staying, I could show you around, get to know you better?" He said, smoothly taking your hand in his. You felt your cheeks light up at you looked up at the green eyed boy. 

"I'm flattered, however I still don't even know if I'm staying for long term." You confessed. "The Captain wouldn't mind, besides we do have an extra room. You could train with us!" Your E/C eyes widened before you dropped his hand. 

"That gives me a great idea!" With that you sprinted out of the room and dashed down the hall. It was only a few seconds before you returned to the room you came from. "Which way is the Captain's office?"

"Left." Both brothers answered. "Right, I knew that..." You muttered, sprinting the opposite direction.
