Your slender fingers pulled a random folder out of the box. You flipped the manila folder open and let your eyes browse the pages inside. Rough drawings of a man in a tin can looking thing adorned several pages. They were nothing like the current version but it was cool to see what Iron Man started out as.
"Talk about a major glow up." You placed the thing papers of Iron man on the table so you could see the drawings of Tony Stark. He looked eerily close to Robert but his facial features were more pointed.
You grabbed the papers of Iron Man off the table and placed back inside the folder. Once it was closed you let it fall on the desk and looked inside the box. The next manila folder you chose had sketches of Thor. The Norse god had a red cape falling from his broad shoulders and a winged helmet around his head. He had bright blue pants around his bulky legs and knee high stripped boots.
You chuckled softly and peeled back the first few pages to see drawings of Loki. He looked shockingly different from the films but you weren't surprised. You had done your research on all the characters when the movies came out like a good little geek.
The god of tricks and lies was in something that looked like a skin tight green onesie. He had yellow gloves, boots, and a chest band layered on top of it. His iconic horned helmet had a golden tail flowing from it and fell down into a jagged shoulder cover. In a few of the sketches his outfit was more elaborate but he still resembled nothing of the character Tom Hiddleston played.
The next folder you selected held drawings of Black Widow and Hawkeye, your favorite assassins. Black Widow was mostly the same except all the drawings showed her with long red hair and she had her catsuit zipped up to her chin.
Hawkeye had a few drawings of himself in his costume as well as in regular clothes. While in his costume he had a bright blue shirt with bright blue pants. His purple boots were folded over at the top and he had purple bands around his biceps. His purple mask had wings and a bit 'H' on the forehead. The mask itself fell down his face into shoulder covers and an arrow holder was strapped around his chest. Instead of a black mechanical bow he had his arrow strung in a golden, almost normal bow.
You continued to look through the various sketches of Marvel characters until the box was almost empty. You were now sitting in the black spinning chair and skimming through the last folder. You flipped through different drawings of The Angel, The Patriot, and The Destroyer before letting out a rough sigh.
You tossed the folder to the floor and ignored the rumbling in your stomach. A few hours had passed and you felt the jet lag start to kick in. On top of that, you were beginning to wonder if there was even anything useful inside the office.
You looked down and noticed the desk had four drawers. You began to pull them open mindlessly. "Pens... Paper... More drawings!!" You went to pull on the fourth drawer but it wouldn't open. You went at it a second time with both hands but it still refused to budge.
You abandoned your hunched over position and decided to sit completely on the floor, thinking it might magically open. You weren't surprised when it remained closed but a slight twang of disappointment struck your chest.
You narrowed your E/C eyes and slowly removed a bobby pin from your H/C hair. You placed one hand firmly on the side of the desk while your dominant hand got to work on picking the lock. Thankfully your bobby pin fit inside perfectly and it wasn't long before the drawer popped open.
You eagerly scanned the drawer but grew disappointed when the only thing inside was a slip of paper. You brought the item close to your face and tried to make out the address that had been scribbled.
175th St Bronx NY
It didn't ring any bells in your head but you decided you would check it out. You passed the more recent drawing of Avengers and crouched over your backpack. You first pulled out your phone and checked the time to see if you would even be able to see the address before you got a hotel.
