The realization that she did believe him with her life was something that he had never expected. How can a woman love a man so much, that even if he does not reciprocate even a little; she still trusts him the most? Agreed that it was he who had married her, but it was him only who had insulted her at different points in time too. He doesn't even remember the last time that they shared a sweet memory, before today, but still, she did what she did today. He was confused; not guilty. He was in thought, not regretting anything that he did.
According to him, though he knew he was rude and cruel, he was not wrong. He was supposed to treat her this way, probably because whenever he saw her face, he remembered the night when the thakurain of Bareilly buried her in fire and died. He trusted her enough with his family; he believed her over people; but not over his mind and his memories.
Her explanations never helped, because according to him; she did not have any valid point to prove. He was not a man of the power to decide what was right or wrong with her, but he at least had the power to discard her from his life when he knew that he would just block both of their lives if he had this relationship working.
And he did that a month back. He drew the divorce papers and decided to make her sign them and set both of them free. What took him six years was the face of his daughter but after he thought of the horrific future, he went on with those papers and to a path to end this relationship. He did care that she might feel broken about this; after all, she had given her six years to him; but the thought of letting her go and lead a life here he would live too made him do that.
She does not need him and nor does she now, because these years had made his wife a strong and confident woman. She knew how to control the people around her and that was admirable for him.
Gauri Kumari Sharma was no more that naive woman who he met in bareilly and who did not even know how to speak a certain language. She is a new confident version of a city woman who has strength to overcome anything. Not that she did not have it before, it is like her skills have been polished even more and these made her deserve this life that she was holding right now. She did never use his name anywhere that she went. Even now she had her maternal name and she had always used that.
"Hello" he picked up his ringing cell phone. "What has happened to you? I am calling you for the past two hours. Where are you two?"asked an angry Shivaay. "In the hospital" he replied. "What are you doing in the hospital? What happened?" Shivaay's voice softened. "I don't know myself. We were driving back home when she just passed out. Her breathing was slow and she was not responding to my voice. I did not know what to do rather than bringing her to the hospital" he answered.
"You should have told me, we would have helped you" Shivaay said. "No, I am perfectly fine" he replied. "And Gauri? Should we come?" Shivaay asked again. "No, no. You all gotta go and rest, I suppose you are still in the party" Shivaay hummed "you all go home, I will handle this" and he disconnected.
The doctor came out of the room and headed towards him "how is she doctor?" he asked. "She seems good" he sighed "but we have to arrange for some tests to make sure everything is fine". "Can you try to make it fast? I don't want my family to get worried about us. I hope you can arrange for the results today" he said to the doctor. "I can sir. It is just that we have to make it sooner. It is okay, I think we can arrange it" she answered. "Thank you so much" he nodded and the doctor exited.
"What is happening?" Rudra asked over the call. "Nothing, the doctor has asked for a checkup which she is conducting right now" he answered. "And what about the results?" Shivaay asked. "She said she will provide it today" he answered.
