Chapter 35:

When we finally get to the hospital I jump out and begin to run in but Luke grabs my waist.

"Hey, it's okay slow down" he says softly. I pull against him. He waits for Josh and Trevor and then releases me. I run inside and run to the receptionist.

"I need Izzy...."

"Follow us!" I'm interrupted by an upset woman about Aunt sierras age.

"Are you Izzy's friends mom?"

"Yes, you must be her sister, brother, and ummm who are you?" she asks pointing at Luke and Trevor.

"My boyfriend and best friend" I say hoarsely.

"Okay, come" she says leading us upstairs. Before she opens the door she stops.

"This is bad, I don't know if you guys want to see her like this, I just want you...."

"Move!" I growl. I open the door and see izzy laying innocent and helpless with a mask on and cuts all over her.

"Izzy!" I scream. I run to her bedside.

"She can't hear us, she's more than likely not making it" The doctor says softly. I begin to fall but Luke catches me and pulls me up. "IZZY!" I scream over and over tears falling fast and my head spinning.

Luke pulls me to him and my back presses against his chest as he kisses my cheek and behind my ear to calm me. I still cry.

Josh glances at Luke before touching my arm.

"Alyssa." he says softly.

Luke quickly lets me go and Josh pulls me into a hug.

I cry into his shoulder.

Suddenly the door opens to a ranch hand and I spin on my heels facing him. Tucker, the ranch hand glances at all of us.

"Austin couldn't make it, the camp...."

"What the hell do you mean he can't make it?! this is basically his daughter now and he can't make it to the freaking hospital?!" I yell.

"Don't yell at me Alyssa we are all stressed but he couldn't make it.

Paula's dad, Izzy's friends dad, grabs my arm.

"Hon, don't yell at him he didnt...."

I try to yank my arm free but he won't let go.

"Get the hell off of me" I growl.

"No listen to me!"

"She said get the hell off!" Luke yells before grabbing his arm and yanking it off me. Trevor picks me up over his shoulder and takes me to the empty waiting room.

Soon Luke comes out and instantly finds my gaze.

"Alyssa." he says softly running to me.

"Luke, she's dying" I sob as he pulls me in a hug.

"Shhh, did he hurt you?"

"No Luke"

"Good because I would kill him"

Luke kisses my forehead as I cry.

Trevor stands up.

"Luke, may I?" he asks carefully. Luke shoots an eyebrow up at me and I nod softly.

He nods reluctantly and releases me.

Instantly Trevor replaces him and hugs me tight.

"She's gonna be okay." He says.
