Safe wings

Chapter 22:

I wake up to the noise of someone opening the door to my room. Matt walks in.

He looks at me and smirks. "your daddy did a good job"

"What the hell do you want" I hiss my breathing ragged and hard to talk.

"I wanted to help your daddy, stand so we can fight." Matt hisses.

"I can't stand" I growl. "Then I'll make the first move" he says yanking me up and then punches my chin. Blood spurts from my lip the salty flavor in my mouth not unfamiliar.

I kick towards him but he dodges and punches me in the stomach. I slump against the wall so he kicks me in the head causing black patches to come into my vision. He punches my nose causing blood to flood from it. I slump against the wall and he leaves.

My vision becomes even darker but I refuse to fall asleep so I look at my phone. I was out yesterday for 9 hours. Only one more day here until Luke saves me. I text him.

"Gotten beat and Matt beat me up pretty bad, vision is going dark trying to stay conscious." I send the text and almost immediately he replies.

"Please stay strong for me I love you and I need you to survive this only one more day, then as soon as I get my family safe I will come for you" he says.

I begin to softly cry.

"I love you too Lukey" I send.

"Lyssie don't give up on me"

"I won't Luke"

"When I get you tommorow I won't ever let them touch you again. They won't touch you over my dead body"

"Thank you Luke, I gotta go. I love you. See you tommorow?"

"Yeah maybe tommorow, just as soon as I get my family safe. I love you too bye"

I hide my phone and grab the small cup of water and gulp from it. I finger the dried blood on my back.

Why is my life hell? I look at the darkness and dampness of the room and then I hear a woman yelling. I rip a piece of cloth from the window cloth and find a pen. "are you Lucas's mom?" I write then slide it through a small hole in the wall that connects the rooms.

I see the cloth move and then I get a yes written back.

I slide my phone to her.

"Text Luke, I need my phone back later, my name is Alyssa, if someone comes in just slide it halfway through the tunnel, don't let us get caught." I say.

"You know Luke?"

"Yes he's my boyfriend"

"Why are you here."

"To save you."

She takes my phone and is lean against the wall. I hear her door lock begin to turn and she pushes my phone into the wall and leans against it. The hole is not noticeable because it is in the back corner of the rooms and it's dark back there so you can hardly see the hole.

I pull my phone out and place the stone that I pulled loose back so that you can't tell the stone was gone. I open my phone and see the texts.

"Lucas it's your mom, your girlfriend Alyssa found a way to get me her phone, I'm sorry you had to give her up for us. I love you son and I want you to do what's right, after you get us you have to come back for her, she is the sweetest girl ever and she doesn't deserve this hell hole. I'm sorry. Bye son."

Lucas replies while I hold the phone.

"I know Alyssa is amazing, I love her mom. I will get her back I promise if they hurt her badly every one of them will die. I love you mom and I love the twins. Keep safe please"

I lay my head on the stone wall and then pull out the brick. Half of the wall is held by one brick so I had to pull one out and Luke's mom had to pull the other. she had placed it back so I set my phone in the hole and found a smaller brick for my side. The brick was shorter so it left room for my phone but still covered where you couldn't see a hole. I smile to myself.

Then the door opens. My mother walks in.

"Hi you little brat"

"Why the hell did you want Lucas?" I hiss instantly.

"I dont"

"Then why did you hate him when you met him with me?"

"Because he took you away from us! We want you" she hisses.

Then she pulls my hair to the side and I flinch away from her.

"When you sleep my dear child when you sleep." she warns.

I would not sleep.

Then she leaves. I open the bricks and grab my phone.

"Lukey I can't sleep, mum came and threatened me about when I sleep. Luke what will I do?"

"One day my dear, I'm coming I promise." he texts back.

"I met your mum"

"I know"

"I love you, I gotta go. I'll see you tommorow"

"Tommorow"

I hide my phone and then lean against the wall. The black is getting fuzzier so I look at my phone for the time.

Two in the morning. I text Luke. "what time do you get then back?"

"6:00 sharp, that means I bring them back here then I will be there for you at 10:00, be prepared to fight."

"Thanks Lukey." then I turn off my phone and lay against the wall. Matt comes in. He sits beside me and caresses my face. I yank away from him.

"If only you had stayed with me."he says. I turn my icy glare at him.

He kisses my neck so I punch him in the balls.

"I would never stay with you! You are a snake! I would kill you! I hate you! Leave me the hell alone before I kill you!" I scream.

He looks at me and glares.

"Oh little girl your life will be hell." he growls before leaving. I begin to sob.
