"M-Matt?" I stutter in surprise.

"You found my ranch." He smiles warmly at me.

"I guess I did huh?" I said.

"C'mon!" he says. He stretches out his hand and I grab onto it and he pulls me onto the huge stallion.

I had never ridden a horse before so I freak out.

"Matthew put me down NOW!" I say.

"Hey, hey your okay." he soothes.

He grabs my hand and wraps it around his waist where it lays on his leg.

Then he wraps my other arm around him in the same way. He clicks his tongue and the horse begins to walk.

I freak again and end up looking stupid by grabbing around his waist and burying my head in his back.

I dig my hands into his sides.

"Hey your okay I promise I won't let you fall." He says.

"Please just let me be on my way, if they find me with you they will lock you up too."

"No they won't don't worry, gosh!" he chuckles.

I sigh and loosen my grip.

He digs his heels into the horses sides and we begin to glide across the land. I laugh again and stretch out my arms. It felt like I was flying.

"I can get used to this cowboy" I say.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah"

"Well I could get used to you being my cowgirl"

I blush. "sorry Matt." I say.

Suddenly the horse stops. I almost fall off but Matthew grabs my arm and steadies me.

"You okay?" He asks.

"Yeah thanks." I scan the landscape. I see we are approaching a barn and a large house.

"You live here?"

"Yep"

I smile and wrap my arms back around him I lay my head on his back and I can feel his shoulderblades.

"Please don't turn me in" I whisper.

"I won't, what happened anyways?"

"I can't tell you."

"Okay" he states then he lays his hand on top of mine on his leg.

I relax and he makes the horse run to the barn.

Afterwards, he lets me jump off then he puts the horse in it's stall and takes care of it.

After he's done he leads me to the truck. "Here's your hair dye" he says.

"I'll leave some streaks" I say with a sad smile.

"Can you stay here?" he asks.

"What about your parents?" I ask.

"My dad died when I was twelve, now I'm 19, and my mom is very nice she will let you stay."

"Who's that?" I say nodding my head at an older man on the porch.

"Grandad, he's really nice."

"Cool." I say.

I bring my hand to my locket.

Maybe one day I would find my moms sister and my grandad, but they have never made contact with me.

"My moms dead." I whispered.

"I'm so sorry, how long?" Matt asks.

"Two years, when I was fourteen, my dad used to blame me and beat me daily for it, one day I ran away, and I just want to find THEM." I say not realizing I had tears running down my face.

Matt is instantly hugging me and holding me. He wipes the tears from my face with his thumb.

"Who is them?" He asks.

"My aunt and grandad, I've never met them but in my locket there is a picture of them and she used to write about them in her journal" I say and more tears fall. Matt wipes them off too.

He hugs me in a way that picks my feet off the ground. I had never had a hug like this since mom died.

I snaked my arms around his neck in a hug. I let the tears fall and he was okay with that. I was okay with that.

After a while we go inside. His grandad greets me first.

"Will you be staying?" he asks.

"Yessir"

"Welcome" he smiles.

Then his mom greets me.

"Hey sweetie! Matt has a couch in his room you can stay on!" She says and hands me blankets and a pillow. I smile and then carry the blankets to his room following Matt.

We sit on his bed and talk until I fall asleep.
