Chapter 19:

Alyssa's POV:

When I wake up the morning light shines through the curtains in my room. I am comfortably warm. Lucas has one arm wrapped around my waist and I am pulled close to him. His forehead is laying on my head. His other arm is draped around my torso with a small piece of my hair in between two of his fingers.

I slowly flip over and face him. now his forehead is on mine and his arm is under me. One arm is still draped across my waist. His blue eyes pop open as I wrap one arm around his torso and lay one hand on his chest.

"Good morning Lyssie." he says.

"Morning Lukey." I say. He kisses the tip of my nose.

"How's your foot my dear?" he asks his blue eyes sparkling.

"Fine." I say staring into his eyes.

"Good." he says. I draw small shapes on his arm.

"Ummm Lukey."

"Yes?"

"I. heard you last night when you thought I was asleep. I'm sorry." I whisper. He stares at me.

He mutters a curse under his breath. "I'm sorry I screwed up Alyssa. This is all my fault god this is bad I've ruined everything." he says he sits up and gently places me beside him.

He looks at me with something I've never seen in his eyes.

"Take whatever if you need a shirt then go in my room and grab it. If you need help just call Sierra. I'll see ya around okay?" he says. He stands and leaves.

I sit silently as soft tears fall. I get ready for the day and then go outside. I stand and Lucas glances at me. I stand next to him but he moves so that we aren't even touching. After morning orientation I look at Lucas "hey umm care if I watch the barrels today?" I ask.

"Whatever." he says.

I watch him and he hardly glances at me.

After his lesson he rides Myra towards the woods trail. I watch him ride off without another look at me. I walk into the woods. I walk down the trail that runs into his. As I get to the crossroads I sit on a log. I hear hoofbeats racing towards me.

As Myra and Luke come into view he stops her. "Alyssa?" he says.

I stand. "what the hell are you doing here?" he asks.

"I'm looking for you Luke." I say fearfully.

He has a look of anger in his eyes. "maybe I ran from you! okay! your just hurting yourself!" he yells.

"Please stop yelling Lucas I'm worried about you! This morning when I mentioned that I knew you left Lucas! What is wrong with you!" I scream. Hot tears are rolling down my cheeks. I see Lucas's expression soften.

"God, listen I have a reason for this! I can't get close to you. I mean you can't get close to me. you'll only get hurt and I can't do that to you." he says.

"But Luke! Have you ever thought how bad it's hurting me right now? By the way you are doing now?" I say the tears threatening to take over my voice too.

He jumps from Myra and runs to me. He puts his hands on my arms. "Please stop." he says softly.

"No Lucas, this is killing me!" I sob now loosing everything my body racking in sobs and my voice keeps cracking. I slowly fall to the ground. Lucas sits next to me and tries to wrap his arms around my shoulders.

"Stop!" I yell.

"Please I'm sorry! Plus you don't need to be out here on your foot! I'm sorry I just didn't want you hurt." he says softly.

"But Lucas god, I just, when I heard that I felt like crying and I don't know. All my life I have been doubted and no one has loved me, and all you've ever done is been kind. I just trust you and now that I hear your leaving I just it kills me and this morning I thought you were gonna leave and I can't lose you because your the only one that has ever been here and I'm just scared of loosing you." I say softly. He wraps his arms around me and I let him comfort me now. I lean into him and he kisses my head.

He pulls me to him. "I love you. I won't let you loose me okay? I believe in you and you will never get hurt with me." he says.

"Lukey I love you too." I say. He slides our hands together and intertwines our fingers.

I hear a horse trot up and look up. Josh jumps from his horse and glares at Luke. "Alyssa, get away from him." he says lowly growling.

"Why?"

"I'll tell you later now come on, come with me now." he hisses.

He walks and pulls me up. Luke stands and glares at him "get the hell off of her." he growls.

"Why? she's my sister leave her alone or I will kill you." he growls at him.

"Guys what's going on here?" I say.

"Why don't you ask your pretty little boyfriend?" josh asks.

"Seriously."

"Lucas works for mummy." josh states. I glare at Luke.

"No I don't believe you." I hiss.

"Well then here. When he hurts you call me." josh says leaving.

A/N: so guys sorry I have to go back on this but I can't do a chapter for everyday Luke is here because I have a large plot twist sooooo yeah.... but I will do a lot more chapters. Thanks for all the support! Love you guys!
