Chapter 38:

As Luke and I ride through the field on Spirit and Myra he glances at me.

"Hey what did you need to talk about earlier?" he asks.

"Ummm, first off thanks so much for the best birthday ever today, I loved it, and ummm it's about Izzy"

"Oh?"

"She doesn't want to stay with me and she won't talk to me or Josh because she's mad we are keeping her here." I say softly.

"I'm so sorry" he says. I stare down at Spirits mane and begin braiding it.

"Alyssa, we should head back, the wolves are on the horizon" he says pointing to several wolves a little ways away.

"Okay" I say.

He turns Myra and I turn spirit.

"Race?" I ask.

"Sure!" he says. I kick spirit and she eases into a smooth canter.

As Luke gets closer I ease her into a gallop and we leave them in the dust as we reach the gates. I slow her down and then take her to the barn.

Luke jumps off Myra.

"Hey babe will you take them to the barn and wash them? I have one more suprise for you" he says.

I nod. I take the horses in the barn and untack them. As I walk into the tack room I hear a sniffle.

I set down the tack in it's place and then turn to the next stall. Remington stands in the stall and Izzy sits in the corner crying.

"Izzy what's wrong?" I ask.

She looks up and then looks back down at her hands.

"I'm sorry, I was so mean to you earlier, I'm just... it's hard being the way I am right now, and no one has really cared about how I've felt since mom left, and now Joshy is leaving and I'm with you and I just don't want Joshy to go" she says. I walk to her and stick out my hand. I grab her crutches and pull her up. I hug her.

"I'm here izzy, and even if you haven't known me long, I'm your big sister, I'm always here" I say.

She smiles.

"Okay"

I smile down at her.

"Let's go inside"

"Okay!" she says. We walk inside and see the boys on the couch.

I instantly snuggle up to Luke and he wraps an arm around my shoulder. Izzy sits beside me and leans on me. Josh smiles "looks like y'all get along better now"

"Yep!" I say.

I glance up to see it's 10:00.

"Izz, you should be getting to bed, it's been a long day" I say.

She sighs.

"Okay night sis, night Josh, Night boys" she says before hugging me.

I hug her back and then she runs upstairs to her room on the main room floor.

"Your room is a secret cubby" Trevor says.

"Wow" I say smiling.

Luke hugs me to him and I snuggle into his side.

We watch a couple episodes of Top Gear and then I yawn.

"Luke I'm going up to bed, love you night" I say kissing his cheek and wriggling from his grasp. He smiles "okay I love you" he says.

I run upstairs and into my room. I go to the bathroom and change before pulling my hair into a messy bun.

I collapse in my bed and pull my covers to my chin.

My door creaks open and I glance up to see Luke shirtless in sweatpants.

"Hey you still awake?"

"Yes"

"Good" he walks to the side of the bed and I move so he can climb in.

"Only two more nights" he says.

"I know" I sigh.

He wraps his arms around me and pulls me into him.

"It's okay" he says before kissing my cheek.

"I miss you already" I say.

"But I'm here now, it's okay" he rubs small circles on the back of my hand.

"I know and I don't want you to go."

"Shhh, go to sleep. It's okay" he says. I nod before falling asleep in his arms.

I awake as Luke stirs beside me.

"Let her go!" he growls fiercely in his sleep.

"Give me Alyssa!" he says again.

I instantly wrap my arms around him and snuggle closer into him. I rub circles on his arms.

He awakes with a jolt.

"Alyssa!" he says. He wraps his arms around me tightly and hugs me to him.

"I'm never letting you go" he whispers.

"You have to, you leave tomorrow" I say.

"No, I cant, I want you here" he says.

"I'm here now, but you have to go"

"Fine but I won't like it"

"Nor will I" i giggle. he smiles hugging me tighter to him.

"It's 7;00, time to get up" I say.

"Our last day together" he says quietly.

"Yeah" I sigh.

Suddenly he flips me over on my back and steals a kiss before rolling off and running from the room.

"Luke!" I groan. I get up and change into a pair of short shorts and a plaid shirt with my blue tank top under it. I curl my hair and then run downstairs. The boys have breakfast and izzy sits at the table.

"She's down!" She yells.

I smile at them all.

They sit a plate in front of me and then Luke sits beside me.

I quickly eat the breakfast and then I smile at them "what's for this day?"

"The mountains!" they yell.

"Okay" I smile.

"Canoeing" Luke smirks.

"Okay!" I smile.

"I'm going to get ready for canoeing" I say.

"Okay" Luke smiles down at me.

I run to my room and find my hotpink bikini and my lace coverup. I slip them on with a pair of flip flops. I run back down the stairs to find the boys all shirtless and ready to go and Izzy in her own bikini.

"Let's go!" I say. we each run out side and Luke grabs our Canoe Josh, Trevor, and Izzy share the other canoe.

We walk down to the river and Luke sets our canoe in the water. I climb in after pulling off my coverup and my shoes.

I grab an ore and smile at Luke.

Our knees touch since we sit facing each other. He leans towards me and we kiss. A flash goes off and I see Trevor holding a camera.

"More pictures to add to the book today. We can get them printed later! We can even take underwater pictures" he says.

I smile.

Then Luke turns so he can face the front of the boat.
