Safe wings

Chapter 14:

I go to my room until dark. After dark I hear the stallion neigh. I still hadn't seen Lucas.

Aunt Sierra and Uncle Austin had gone to bed and Jake was at his home.

I open my bedroom window and climb off the roof. I walk to the barn and sit down at the stallions stall door.

He nuzzles my shoulder and I smile.

"Your so sweet buddy. I wish I never had to deal with all of this. Mum died, Josh and Izzy hate me. Lucas hates me and now that Matt's back well I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Do you ever feel like that buddy?" I say.

"Yeah" I hear a voice. Josh walks up and sticks his hand out. I grab it and he wraps me in a hug. "Josh, I'm scared."

"Why?"

"Cuz they hate me."

He looks me in my eyes.

"No they don't please just stop this. They love you. You are amazing. That's your two best friends just please give them a chance. Lucas is just upset that Matt's back after what he did to you. It's okay." He says. I nod.

"And about your horse friend, go ahead and train him at night okay? When Austin sees you with that horse it will be amazing. Tommorow morning you just ride him bareback okay?"

"Okay" I smile up at him.

He gives me a fast hug and then says "better go in before a while, you know Lucas and Matt will both come to check on you."

"Yeah I guess." I say. We both climb up the side of the house and go In our bedroom windows.

After a while of laying awake I hear the door creak open. Matt stand with his floppy blonde hair over his green eyes.

"Hey I'm sorry about today and everything before. I'm cool with being best friends, if there's something going on between you and Lucas I get it I left you. But can we still be friends?" he says.

"Yes Matt." I say. He smiles and runs and vaults onto my bed landing next to me. I laugh and smile.

"So what's going on with you and Lucas?"

"I'm not sure Matt." I say. He nods in understanding.

"Sometimes being unsure is the best way to be." he says. I look at him confused but he's like a confusing riddle giving no answer for his sentences.

Then I hear another knock at my door.

"Yes?" I ask.

"'Lyssa can I come in." Lucas says. I say yes and he walks in. When he sees Matt he tenses up and sends a protective glance at me.

"It's okay Lucas, Matt's not going to hurt me I promise." I say. He nods but doesn't relax. I touch his arm but he still glares at Matt.

" C'mon Lucas!" Matt says.

"Why don't you leave! Everything was fine without you pretty boy!" Lucas hisses.

"Lucas stop!" I cry.

"Well Lucas before you came along me and Alyssa were in a good relationship" Matt growls.

"Guys your both my best friends! But right now your just being pains! Get out of my room and until you guys can get along just leave me alone!" I say. They both look hurt and then they leave.

I lay in bed and silently cry. That's when I hear a soft knock. "Come in." I say. A small figure comes in.

"Sissy, can I sleep in here tonight? I'm scared." I hear Izzy's soft voice. I feel reassured and say yes. She comes and gets in bed with me. She lays her head on my pillow and smiles at me.

"I'm sorry for not hanging out with you." she says.

"It's okay Izzy" I say. She smiles and gives me a hug then she goes to sleep her breathing soft. I love my little sister.
