To Luke's surprise, they didn't walk straight to the big, white front door. Michael lead him to the back of the house.

For a second Luke though he'll get kidnapped because he didn't really know Michael that well. He quickly lost the thought as he remembered Michael did walk to meet him from behind the house as well. Maybe he had his own entrance or something.

Luke was in awe over the state of the property that belonged to Michael's uncle. He was aware he was the one connected to the criminal business that ruined Michael's family name. But the house and the garden were absolutely breathtaking.

He was wrong again when Michael didn't start walking to the back of the house but to the garden where Luke noticed a trailer connected to something that looked like a shed.

"You live here?" Luke asked and Michael turned back with the biggest smile on his face and nodded.

"Isn't it great?"

"I mean you could be living in this mansion so I think we have a different perspective on what great is."

Michael was still smiling when they reached his home.

"The difference is that it's mine. I'm not a fan of what's often happening in the great mansion so I have a say in what and who comes here."

Michael opened the door and walked into the trailer. He looked back once he saw Luke didn't follow him. "You're coming or what?"

Luke did and was again in awe as what turned out to be Michael's room actually looked amazing.

"Wanted to make sure I was welcomed here. Since you want to have a say in what's going on."

Michael rolled his eyes and took off his shoes so Luke did the same. "I thought you were a vampire for a second."

And I thought you'd kidnap me. Rang in Luke's brain but he ignored it. He had to stop being weird.

It looked like a small apartment. Much bigger than the trailer his family once borrowed to go on a road trip.

There was a bed and a couch. A small kitchen that actually looked like someone cooked there. Even a decently sized dining table that seemed to serve more like a desk as it was covered with papers.

"Where's the bathroom?" Luke asked as he sat down next to Michael behind the table.

"Through that door. My uncle actually built or have this made as a gift for when my dad finally decided on signing the custody papers. But he didn't really agree that I'd only have a small bathroom so he had a proper one built next to it."

"It's cool."

Michael grinned and Luke liked to see him both happy and in sweatpants.

He pushed some of the papers away and scoot over to Luke with his laptop.

"Okay, so this is the version of the paper you last shared with me. You can sign in with your account if you made any progress."

Luke's brain took a second to registrate what Michael was saying because he noticed how good he smelled. He probably showered not long before and since he was usually sitting on the other side of the desk Luke was never as close to him as now.

"Not much..." He took the computer and logged into his account. "As I've said, I couldn't really work knowing you were mad at me."

"You sure it had nothing to do with your breakup with Kyle?"

Luke looked at Michael but his eyes were on the screen. "Positive. We didn't break up as we were never together. I don't know why I didn't break up with him sooner because he was absolutely terrible in bed."

That made Michael smile and Luke loved it. Not only Michael smiling but the fact that he was the reason behind it. He felt much better than when acting like a bitch towards him.

"Okay, so we have the cover." Luke opened up the document. "It's a painting that won the competition last week and then we also have a page and a half long interview about the competition and with the girl who painted it. The rest are pictures."

"I'm sure the Art club will appreciate the front cover."

"They better. Mr. Abrams already told them to leave me alone."

As Luke slid down on the document Michael leaned back. "I don't understand how everybody wants to be in the paper but nobody wants to work on it."

"Nobody wants to work with me."

"That's not true." Michael frowned.

"It is. I'm partnered up with this guy who absolutely hates me in Mr. Abrams class. Once I asked him if he wants to help with the newspaper because he's a really good writer and he said he'd thought about it if I wasn't the editor. And now I have to work with him on this big project for the rest of the semester."

Luke noticed it again. Michael's fists squeezed together. "Why don't you switch?"

"We're an even number." Luke really wanted to talk about something else. It was hard enough for him to look at his classmate in class.

"I'll switch classes. We'll do the project together."

Luke looked at Michael like he fell from the moon. "It's an advanced class."

"I know. Mr. Abrams has been asking me every week to switch classes. Apparently, I have great writing skills." Michael winked at Luke.

Luke didn't know if he should slap him or kiss him for being so amazing.

"For this number, we can use the spare page to promote our club. Let's make it interesting. The school had already started but let's say we're looking for new people to join for the second semester. We could say we're only accepting the best writers, photographers, artists or anyone really to help. And that we need three months because we'll only choose the best."

"But the spare page is for you."

"We'll only do this number. And then for the next issues, we can do misfits page and even promote Ecology club. They'll love being more included. And then we'll include the LGBT club as well."

"Me and you?" Luke laughed and Michael did too.

"Us against the world.. Or in this case against the lamest school in the world."
