It was one of those days Luke just didn't care.
He let Ally write a controversial piece on feminism and skipped the last class of his day with Michael. It was Friday and they had the Easter Monday off of school and Luke was just tired. So, when the older boy suggested skipping Chemistry as a joke, Luke just said yes.
Since his mum was working at the school, he knew she'll find out sooner than later. Also, the fact that both he and Michael skipped.
But he was always a good student so he deserved not watching the movie about atoms they watched every last Chemistry class before any holiday. Luke was still so good he texted his mum right away when he and Michael left in school.
They were holding hands which was another proof he didn't care that day.
Luke suggested going to his house and watch a movie but on the way there the older boy brought up what they'll be doing that weekend so he had to interfere.
"Mikey, babe. I told you I'm going to see my grandparents." He grabbed Michael's hand and offered him his prettiest smile.
Michael bit his lip and nodded when he remembered the memo he got from Luke. "Oh, yeah. So, when are we leaving?"
"Michael... I'm going alone."
"I understand." Michael fake pouted. "You don't want me to meet your grandparents. It's not like I love their grandson or anything."
The younger boy leaned over and kissed his cheek. "You know it's not like that. They already love you and they haven't even met you. They keep bugging my mum to send them cute pictures of us."
That made Michael smile. He only knew his grandfather on his dad side and didn't think he had any family on his mum's side.
Luke knew for a fact he was wrong.
"I'll facetime you when I'm there and you'll get to meet them. But we'll stop there on our way for our spring break anyway."
The couple planned their first vacation together and Luke couldn't wait to do absolutely nothing with Michael for a few days.
"I guess I can live with that. When do you leave?"
"Tomorrow morning. I have a bus right before noon."
Michael parked in front of Hemmings' house before looking at his favorite boy. "Then you have to let me take you to dinner today."
Luke grabbed Michael's hand as soon as they were out of the car. "What's the occasion?"
It looked like he was thinking really hard to come up with something. "I'm sure our anniversary is some time this month? I mean four months is a long time."
"Well, I intend to be with you for the rest of my life so it's not that long."
Michael kissed him immediately after Luke said that. And he didn't stop kissing him until an hour later a pretty angry mum Hemmings came home.
