Michael said nothing and just looked at Luke for a while. He had a peaceful look on his face while Luke was dying inside.

But he didn't regret saying those words because he won't be another in the line of people who let Michael down. He'll admit his mistakes and share his findings and hopefully, he'll still love him.

"Do you love me?" Michael asked and he almost seemed nervous which hurt Luke even more.

"Yes." Luke almost cried out, not caring if it was in the middle of the night and his parents were in a room next to his.

Michael smiled, leaned over and pressed a chaste kiss against Luke's lips.

"That's all that matters to me." He said quietly and cuddled against his boyfriend's chest.

Luke shook his head even if Michael couldn't see him. "Mikey, no. I've been keeping something from you and you can't just say that's okay."

"It's not." He agreed and the younger boy felt better, Luke needed Michael to be mad at him. If things aren't okay, he can fix them. He will fix them. "But I know you Luke and while I did believe you were flirting with Kyle, I know you'd never cheat. And I know you did many things I either asked you not to do or you know you should just know I wouldn't like you to do them."

"You do?"

Michael looked up and smiled. Luke still couldn't believe how calm he was. But that must come with the territory of being through a lot. "It's part of why I love you. You're hot-headed and rebellious."

The blue-eyed boy just held his boyfriend closer. "Can I tell you about it?"

"Is it about my family?" Michael asked and bit his lip.

"Yes."

They had to move because as much as Luke loved keeping Michael save in his arms, they couldn't have this conversation like this. The older man moved up and sat next to Luke under the covers. Their hands were linked above the sheets.

"If you did some journalist digging on my uncle, I can assure you there's not much more I can find out about him and like him less than I do right now."

"It's about your mum," Luke whispered.

Michael quickly turned his head and Luke could see he was surprised.

"My mum?" He asked and Luke nodded.

"You've seen my mum?"

"No, baby. I didn't." Luke squeezed his hand. "But can I tell you a story about her?"

Michael shrugged his shoulders. "Is it good or bad?"

"I think it's good." He said truthfully. "And also, a bit sad."

After his boyfriend remained quiet Luke leaned over a pressed a kiss on his temple. "You can stop me any time. If you won't like it."
