Jameson walks down the hall, and I follow him, right on his heels. The hall is silent, and I try to steady my breathing. Why has my life gotten so crazy in the last three weeks? I look down at my necklace and finger it, trying to calm myself down. Everything is going to be okay.
"Lily, are you okay?" Jameson says, coming to an abrupt stop. I almost run into him.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I say, breathing deeply. I can do this.
"Ok," he says, unconvinced.
We continue walking down the halls, until we end up in a dining room, very different to the one last night. Lots of low couches line the room, with low tables by them. One table in the back has a ton of snacks, desserts, foods, drinks, etc. The lights are low, and there is a rainbow disco ball hanging from the ceiling. One couch is a little higher than the rest, and it looks higher quality than the rest, like it is fit for a king. Jameson saunters over to it and I follow him. He sits down, and I go around the back of the sofa to stand right beside him.
"Lily, would you be a dear and go get me my drink," he asks politely as he looks up at me.
I smile and nod, and walk out another door in the back corner of the room, one that looks dingy and overused, like a servants' passage. I ask a few passing servants for directions to the drinking hall. I make it there and gasp, enthralled in the magic, once more. I start humming, hearing a far off melody.
I reach into my apron and grab my measuring utensils. I sway to the far away melody, humming louder and twirling as I grab a cup of gold liquid, 3/4 cup of cyan, 1/4 cup of lavender, and 1 tsp of rose. I'm dancing, flowing with the music which has grown louder. I swirl around, singing out loud, words falling out of my mouth uncontrollably. I do a twist, and a jump, and a spin, and finish, done with Jameson's drink. That must've been Morrighan magic at work.
I rush back through the servants' halls, weaving my way towards Jameson again. I see a wooden door, the one that leads into tonight's dining room, take a deep breath, and turn the door knob. Guests have already arrived, and I recognize some of my classmates. I work my way towards Jameson.
He's in the center of the room, on his fancy couch, with Natalia draped over him, and Easton and Jacob are drinking and laughing at something Jameson said. Chloe is draped on top of Jacob, and Rhea and Cameron are sitting near the main group awkwardly, as if this was the last place they wanted to be. I take one more deep breath and walk to the center of the room, bowing once I get close to him.
"Here's your drink, master, as requested," I say submissively as I hand him his silver goblet and go stand behind his couch.
The group looks at me, trying to figure out what I'm doing there, and why I'm calling Jameson master. Cameron tries to look me in the eyes, but I avert my eyes, glaring at the couch. Why did I think Jameson was a nice guy? This is what he does. Sleeps with whomever, drinks with whomever, uses whomever, abuses whomever...
I can't believe I fell for his sweet talking today...He literally put me under a love potion...
This is why the Sisters need to be stopped. Because of them, Jameson can do whatever he wants with no consequences.
Cameron looks at Jameson, and speaks harshly, "What is Lily doing there?"
Jameson chuckles, and absentmindedly plays with the hem of my very short skirt, 'accidentally' touching my thigh in the process.
"She's my new maid. She owed me something, and this is how she's paying me back. But, it's really none of your concern, Cameron. I thought you hated Lily. Wasn't she super annoying back in elementary and middle school?"
