... "...that, you're one of us now," Miss Fane shouts, grabbing my hand and pumping it in the air.
Kyler whispers into my ear, "open your eyes."
I do, and I'm elated I can see the pure joy on these people's faces, seeing that someone has joined their cause, regardless of the risks.
"Now," Miss Fane says, "since we're short on time, you can have proper introductions with names later, so I'll have to take you to Silvaria."
"Silvaria...?" I ask
"Oh, Silvaria is our...well...I'll let her explain," Miss Fane stutters. "Kyler, Lily, follow me."
She motions to another side door, and I realize that this room has tons of doors.
Kyler grabs my hand and we weave through more hallways.
I can't believe it. Finally, things are working out. The walls start to become intertwined with vines for a while until the entire walls are covered with vines. There are flickering scones and they're beautiful.
I blink, and for a moment I see a different wall covered with vines, sunlight dripping down, and a figure standing in front of it. The figure has honey skin and aqua hair in dreadlocks. She's collecting flowers from the wall when a Reaper walks up to her. He clears his throat, and the woman turns around.
"Rowan! You came! I was worried you wouldn't make it..." the young lady says, excitement glimmering in her pale green eyes. She looks like she's blind, but she caresses Rowan's face, as though she can see him.
His auburn hair dances in the sparkling sunlight and his purple eyes are filled with fear.
"Evanora, we can't be together anymore." Tears start falling down his cheeks.
"But Rowan, I've already got everything ready. I'm all packed, and I've saved up enough money. I'm ready to go, away from here, away with you," Evanora pleads, not ready to give up and accept the truth.
"You know what our queen will do," Rowan sighs.
"You're just scared. Fine. I'm still leaving, and if you don't come, then that's your decision, though you'll regret it," she says, turning around.
"Evanora, I know you don't understand, but I love you. I'll always love you," Rowan says.
"No, you don't. I'm leaving."
"And where do you think you're going?" a mysterious voice cackles. A person jumps in between the two, coming from the sky. I gasp. it's Queen Laverna.
She smiles at Rowan and strokes his chest, angering Evanora.
"Thank you, Rowan, for reporting this woman."
Rowan stood still, stone-faced, though the tears still lingered on his cheeks.
"Rowan, How could you?!" Evanora screams.
He says nothing, though his eyes speak.
I didn't have a choice. I didn't say anything. They caught me last time and the Queen probed my mind. I wasn't strong enough.
She nods and turns around to leave.
"Wait, why are you moving? I never told you could," Laverna snaps. Evanora freezes.
"Uh, your majesty. How nice to see you?"Evanora lies.
Laverna does not buy it. "That's enough. I've allowed your people to live peacefully and not move, because your line is almost as ancient as mine. But, having an affair with a man of my court, especially one of my Reapers, is not okay. As punishment, you are to gather all your sisters, and all of you are to come to the capital at once and become part of my court. Otherwise, I will kill that unborn child that lurks inside you."
