Day 10 - A song by your favorite band
Ill be honest, I don't have many "favorite" bands. Well, I listen to a lot of bands thats for sure, but if Im being honest... very few I'd consider my "favorite". They aren't bad or anything, in fact I love all the bands I listen to! But most of them I only listen to a few select songs that I like by them. Granted this isn't the case for all of them, it is for most.
So I'm going to take this opportunity to travel back in time. Back to 6 year ago when my Christian music phase had been going on for 2 years, but exploded as I had just discovered Air1 radio station.
My love for Air1 started all because of a certain song. One day, driving with my sister, a song came on. It was fun, it was upbeat, and it straight up blew my mind. Ill be honest, back then I had no idea Christian music like this existed! This song was a certain song by a certain band that became my favorite band for a good 2 or so years after this moment.
This song was "NY2LA" by Press Play
Something about this song just had me hooked. The beat? The lyrics? I have no clue but I loved it and ever since I heard this song, not only did Air1 become my #1 go to radio station, but Press Play became my favorite band.
I asked for all 4 of their albums for my birthday (Life is Beautiful, NY2LA, World Anthem, and #LITO), I watched every video of theirs on Youtube, I worshipped them!
In fact, its through Press Play that I found Nicole Croteau! She became the new female vocalist for the band for the album #LITO and once I found out she had her own album, she became my new favorite person! In fact, Nicole was the person I looked up to most and my all time favorite musician from 2013 up until Avi came into my life! So for a good 2 years 😂 Still love her though!
Also fun fact: Its through Press Play I found my favorite male musician from 2013 - Avi's existence being known to me. Jonathan Thulin! His music, at least his music under Jonathan Thulin anyway, is still something I love to this day! Sad he left that life behind....
But yes! Longer chapter today but this one had some backstory to it! Im loving this challenge~
