A/N- Not a big fan of a sad ending either. So here it goes. Trust me.

Taehyung was fine.

Or at least that's what he tells himself every day.

Most days went without a count. Lost in the efflux of time, he didn't know if he was living or presuming to be merely alive. Life seemed granted now, given to him in the form of a second chance. Or in words of a writer,

Another story.

Another beginning.

Because when the end was so clear, tables turned, fate interchanged and every paper written about the nineteen year old were torn from his book of life and inked all over again with someone else's tale, someone else's life, someone else's story. And even if he wishes to have his own pen, he is left with nothing but empty sheets of paper that belonged to that someone else.

Which he could never start a beginning for. It was over for the female lead. The end said the script the day her eyes had never opened again, the day her lashes being the curtain of life fell.

The only thing that ever mattered for him now was to stay alive. Breathe. I need to breathe.

But most of all,

Smile, because that's what she wanted.

"Hey Taehyung! Want to tag along? We are leaving for the basket ball game" Jimin asked.

Taehyung smiled. Of course, he is perfect at it now. But every smile was forced. Everybody knew that, but for his sake they don't question it.

"Not today. I need to be somewhere" he replied, a voice so calm yet weak escaped his lips.

"But Suga hyung is playing today"

"I know, but just not today hyung, please" another smile, it screamed for Jimin to give in. Please. Please. Please. He chanted.

"Okay, is it because of the meteoroid shower of this year?" he asked and Taehyung was soon caught in trap. "How do you always know it, hyung? How can you so easily guess it" Taehyung asked in wonder, his eyes enlarged in amazement.

"Don't be silly. You never miss it. Every year you wait for it with your telescope ready to go" he continued, making funny faces to light up the little boy in front of him. "If you want I could come with you this evening for it? That is only if you want-"

In a matter of second Jimin was embraced into Taehyung's arms as he continued to dive into his friend's warmth. Jimin froze. He knew Taehyung wanted a hug, but something in him hesitated until this minute.

Jimin patted his back, slowly, carefully.

"Hyung, last year she was there with me to see this. I'd love to have you with me, but I just want to see it myself this time. Alone. Only Kim Taehyung"

As Taehyung mumbled onto Jimin's shoulder, he was reminded of Taehyung's past. Jimin was reminded of the trauma the boy went through after the girl was no more and the things they had to do to make him come to his senses. Taehyung never stopped crying back then.

And Jimin couldn't help a tear run down his cheek. But before it could touch Taehyung's skin, he quickly rubbed it off before separating from the small hug of companionship. He knew if he cried, then Taehyung would fall weak again. And so he smiled.
