Sage's POV

Carli and I are flying home to Houston and our flight is really early so hopefully there won't be a lot of people in the airport. Once we get to the airport we find out that someone from US Soccer got us a private jet for us and the rest of the Houston girls so Jane and Moe will be joining us. Thankfully I don't get a panic attack and soon after we get there the plane takes off and 2 and half hours later we land in Houston and split from the other girls and we head to Carli's house, its my home now too which is nice. Once we get home we immediately go to Carli's room and go to sleep to get rid of this jet lag.

After our five hour nap we decide to go get something to eat for a late lunch so Carli and I go to a pizzeria. We split a pizza and each order a salad. Carli and I are talking for a while until I recognize a face I've seen before. I stare for like five minutes before I realize who it is and it's going to crush Carli. Well if I was her I would want to know.

"Hey Carli can I tell you something you may not like?"

"Of course Sage."

"Umm your husband is sitting behind you with another woman and they are really flirty." She turns around to look and my heart breaks as I see her look over at her husband and her face falls.

He leans forward to kiss whoever the fuck he is with so I scoot next to Carli and grab her hand to hold "I'm so sorry Carli. He is the biggest idiot in the world. You are an amazing and beautiful woman who lets be honest he was so lucky to be with you. I'm so sorry. How about we go get some junk food and have a Netflix day at home?" She just nods and we get up to leave, but she makes a beeline for her cheating husband and stops at their table to talk to him. I follow just to make sure he doesn't do anything to Carli. I don't give a shit if Carli hits him, the prick deserves it.

Once she gets to the table she takes off her ring and sets it on the table and starts talking, "Hey how you doing now ex-husband. Just so you know all your shit will be outside the door. If you even try to come inside when you pick it up I will call the cops on you so quick." She picks up the ring and hands it to the home wrecker and keeps talking to the skank, "You can have his cheating ass." Carli grabs my hand and we go to leave but the dickhead decides to speak up.

"Oh so you can cheat, but I can't Carli?"

"If you would have come home when you were suppose to you could've met her asshole. This is my daughter. Now fuck off dickhead."

And with that we leave the restaurant, not before paying of course, and head to a gas station and load up on junk food then head home. I hate that Carli is going through this. She will probably blame herself for this when she shouldn't be. She is an angel and he didn't deserve her.

When we get home we go to the couch and cuddle into each other and start watching That 70s Show. After about 4 episodes we hear rustling outside the door, a key sliding under the door, then footsteps walking away. I guess the prick left, thank fuck. Hearing the footsteps walk away causes Carli to burst into tears, so I just pull her into me and hold her and let her get it all out. She has been there for me at my lowest and I will be there for her at her lowest. After an hour of letting her cry it out she seems to want to talk.

"Why wasn't I good enough for him?"

"Carli you were more than enough for him. He just wasn't thinking with his head, well he was, but not the correct one." I lift her chin to look at me. "He was an asshole that thought because you were away living your dreams that he needed to have his needs met. He is the biggest idiot in the world to cheat on you. You are an amazing person, an absolutely gorgeous woman, and honestly the best mother. You don't need that prick. Someday someone is going to make you forget you were ever with that dick. I know right now is hard, but I will never leave you Carli. I will do anything you need me to."
