Sage's POV

The team won both games against China which is great. Now that I think of it they haven't lost this year. The two games against China were very tense and very close. Being with Mal for the whole of camp was great. It allowed me to see how I would sleep for more than a few days without Mom and actually I slept pretty well.

Thankfully I was on the opposite end of the floor from Mom and Christen. The people that slept near them apparently heard them having some couple time one night and the team didn't let them live that down much to Moms, Chrissys, and my annoyance.

Speaking of Mom and Chrissy, Sky Blue is playing Utah today. Mom and I are also meeting Christen's family. She told them to come for this game so they could see her and so they could meet Mom and I. I hope they're okay with Mom having a kid.

Mom and I are on the bus and she is doing her pregame routine while I'm texting Mal and trying not to be a distraction to anyone on the team. When we get to the Utah Royals stadium Kelley is out front waiting for me because I was sitting with her because she wasn't playing today.

"Hey mini-Lloyd." Kelley says.

"Hey squirrel." I say and Kelley groans.

"You're sitting by yourself now." Mom glares at her. "Never mind...come on Sage let's find our seats" She drags me away so I look back at mom.

"BYE MOM. KICK SOME ASS." I yell and Mom chuckles and gives me a thumbs up and walks into the locker room. Kelley and I find our seats and talk until the game starts.

Finally the game started and within the first ten minutes Chrissy had a goal, which was her first of the season. I wanted to cheer, but I am an employee of Sky Blue so I couldn't. I'll just hug her later. Chrissy then had an assist so Utah was up 2-0. I guess she is out to prove something or it may be because she is playing against Mom and doesn't want people to think she is taking it easy on her girlfriend. After 30 minutes had gone Utah was up 3-0. I'm glad I'm not in that sky blue locker room at half time.

Mom scored in the the 62nd minute and I was going to cheer, but Kelley held me down and put her hand over my mouth. Bitch. Nothing else really materialized for the rest of the game so Kelley and I went to the players area and she waited with me until Christen came out so Kelley left and I waited with Christen.

"Hey Chrissy?" I asked.

"Yes?"

"Your family knows I'm coming too right?"

"Yes."

"And they're okay with me being Mom's daughter."

"Of course they are. They know you mean a lot to your mom and frankly you mean a lot to me as well so they can't wait to meet you."

"Cool. This is a casual dinner right?" I ask and she motions to what she is wearing which is just a sleeveless shirt and some sweats.

"Yeah. I think my parents are just going to order some Chinese when we get to my house." Mom comes out soon after and we head to Christen's car and head to her house.

"It's just your family right?" I ask

"Yeah, just my parents and sisters." Christen says and I nod. After a little bit of a drive we arrive at her house and find her family waiting in their car. Fuck that's a lot of people. Christen and Mom get out of the car and I hesitate for about a minute causing Mom to come to my door and open it.

I get out of the car and Mom puts her hands on my shoulders. "Hey everything will be okay. It's just Christen's family. I promise nothing will happen. We are just having dinner with them."

"So many people." I whisper while looking at Christen talking to her family.

"I know it is, but you have me and Christen. We got your back. If you feel one coming on just hold our hands and if you need to be alone just say peanut butter Okay?" I nod and Mom kisses my forehead. "I love you and I promise nothing will happen." I hug Mom and mumble I love you back. We then walk over to Christen and her family. Christen looks at mom and mom nods. I guess telling her we are ready.

"Well family this is my girlfriend Carli Lloyd." Christen says while motioning to Mom and then motions to me. "And this is her daughter Sage." I smile shyly at the group of people in-front of me. "Carli...Sage this is my mom Stacey, my dad Cody, and my sisters Channing and Tyler." Christen points to whomever she is talking about while introducing them.

"It's very nice to meet everyone." Mom says and greets everyone. I just wave at everyone.

After the introductions Christens parents take the orders for the food we want and go pick it up leaving the rest of us to talk in the living room. I was the last one into the living room so I sat next to Christen.

While the four of them were talking Christen's sisters kept looking at me. They didn't mean any harm by it, but nonetheless it freaked me out so I grabbed Chrissy's hand. Chrissy didn't mind and she just kept talking acting like nothing was happening. Her sisters noticed though so now instead of glancing at me they were staring at me and my hand in Christens. Yep I can feel one coming on. Fuck sake.

I squeeze Christens hand to get her to look at me and when she does I whisper to her. "Chrissy can you tell Mom peanut butter? She'll know what it means." She nods then tells Mom. Mom looks at me and nods then she talks with Christen for a minute. After they talk Christen takes her sisters somewhere in her house and Mom sit next to me and hugs me.

"This shits annoying." I mumble.

"Sage it's okay." Mom says.

"At least they're happening less and less."

"That's good."

"Hey foods here." Christen says when she comes into the room. I get up and go hug her and Mom goes to get our food from the kitchen.

"I'm sorry Chrissy."

"It's okay Sage. I know it's a lot of people, but you and your mom are very important in my life so I wanted my family to meet you two and vice versa."

"I...I love you Chrissy."

"I love you too Sage."

Mom came back with our boxes of food and is followed by the rest of her family. We eat and talk for the rest of the night until Christen's family leave and the three of us go to bed.

Mom and I just landed in Philly after meeting Christen's family. They are very nice people. After getting our bags Mom and I get in the car and head home. Throughout the drive we are talking and laughing.

We are about 20 minutes away from the house when we hit a red light so we sit there and wait for it to turn green which takes maybe a minute or two. Once the light is green we move into the intersection and suddenly everything turned black...
