Sage's POV

You ever have an out of body experience? I'm having that right now. I see myself in an ambulance being worked on by EMT's while Mom is crying hysterically next to me which is breaking my heart. I just want to be able to hold her hand and hug her so she can calm down. I wonder what happened?

Wait where am I going? I want to stay with Mom. DAMMIT STOP WHEELING ME AWAY FROM HER. WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT I DON'T WANT TO SEE ME BEING OPERATED ON. HOW DO I STOP THIS OUT OF BODY SHIT? Ah there we go.

Carli's POV

I'm so stupid. I'm so stupid. I'm so stupid. I'm so stupid.

I should've looked both ways before I went. God I'm such a failure as a mother.

"Family of Sage Lloyd?" A doctor says and I swiftly walk towards her.

"I'm her mother. Is she okay?"

"Well there is good news and not so good news. The good news is that her injuries aren't life threatening. She broke both of her wrists, she has some bone bruises, a concussion and had small internal bleeding, but we were able to stop the bleeding." THATS THE FUCKING GOOD NEWS.

"And...and the bad news?"

The doctor takes a deep breath."Sage is in a coma." FUCK. "There is no damage to her brain, thankfully, and right now it is up to her when she wants to wake up."

"Are you sure she will wake up?"

"100%"

"Okay...can I see her now?"

"Of course. I'll take you to her." The doctor says and leads me down the hallway to Sage's room. Once at the door the doctor leaves and I mentally prepare myself for what I'm about to see then head in.

"Oh baby no. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I love you so so so much Sage" I don't really know what to say anymore so I just sit down next to her and hold her hand.

After an hour I realize I haven't told anyone about this so I send a text to the group chat and immediately everyone says they are on their way even though I try to tell them not to. I then call my parents.

"Hello"

"mom" I barely croak out.

"Carli what's wrong?"

"S...S...Sage and I w...were driving h...home and we...we...we got hit...an...and she got hurt."

"What hospital?"

"Northeastern."

"We are on the way." She says and hangs up. I put my phone in my purse and lay my head on my daughters stomach and silently cry until I hear the door open.

"Ma'am you have two visitors who say they are your parents. Would you like them to come in?" A nurse says. I nod and she leaves and a minute later my parents walk in.

"Daddy." I say and walk over to him and he pulls me into a hug. Nobody says anything. The room is filled with sobs until the doctor comes in. I don't really listen to what she has to say. I'm busy looking at my daughter lying in a hospital bed and she's here all because of me.

Grandma's POV

"Come on sweetheart. Please wake up. Our family is a mess without you. You've been asleep for a month. Your Mom cries herself to sleep every night. She blames herself for you being here even though we all told her it was that damn drunk drivers fault. She needs you honey. We all do. Please...please just please wake up soon. I need my granddaughter back" I say holding my granddaughters hand then sitting down to watch the end of Carli's game.
