Sage's POV

"You ready to go home?" Mom says and I nod. We walk out of the hospital room, to the elevator and take it down, and walk out of the hospital to the car. Once inside the car mom drives away from the hospital and back home.

"Mom?"

"Yes?"

"What happened with my college stuff?"

"I called the university and told them what happened and they said you can come back whenever you are ready."

"That's good."

I zone out after that until we get to the intersection where the accident happened and I feel a panic attack coming on so I grab Moms free hand.

Mom brings my hand up to her lips and kisses it. "You're safe. I promise. I won't ever let anyone hurt you again. Just a few more turns and we'll be home. Just breathe baby just breathe... we're home sweetheart." Damn that was fast. Mom gets out of the car and comes around to my door and helps me out of the car and wraps her arm around me as we walk to the house with our bags.

"What's that noise?" I ask Mom as we get closer to the door to the house. She just shrugs and opens the door.

"SURPRISE" I hear a bunch of people yell then they jump out from where they were hiding only to reveal the whole USWNT is here. There is a bunch of balloons around the living room and a big sign that says welcome home.

"hi" I say shyly only to be tackled in a big hug by everyone. "Guys....Can't....Breathe." I barely manage to get out

They all quickly release me. "Sorry" they mumble. I then grab my bag, but for some reason I forget where to put my stuff.

I look at Mom very confused and she catches on so she talks to the team. "Why don't you guys go get the food and stuff you guys brought ready." She says and everyone disperses so she walks over to me. "Are you okay?"

"This may sound weird, but I don't remember where my stuff goes."

"Umm okay? Is that the only thing you can't remember?"

"I think so." Mom nods and leads me to my room and it all comes flooding back. "I remember now. I keep my clothes and stuff in here and we sleep in your room." I say with a smile.

"Yes we do Sage." Mom says and helps me put my stuff away. Once we put all my stuff away Mom goes to walk out of the room, but I grab her wrist making her look at me confused. I don't say anything I just pull her closer to me then wrap my arms around her and hug her tightly.

"Are you okay?" Mom asks after she tightly hugs me back.

"Yeah. Everything just hit me." I say then feel another pair of arms wrap around me making me look behind me and see Chrissy.

"What? I missed you too." She says making me giggle.

"As much as I love this family hug there's someone I have yet to see sooooo may I go see my girlfriend?" I say/ask.

"Yes Sage you can go see your girlfriend." Mom says.

Oh I'm going to do more than just see her. We break our hug and I walk out into the living room and see most of the team, but I don't see the girl I'm looking for. Alex catches my attention and points to the kitchen. I look and see the back of Mal's head looking for something in the kitchen with Emily. I swiftly walk to her and once I'm behind her Emily points behind Mal and she turns around.

"BAB-" Mal goes to say, but I cut her off by passionately kissing her. Fuck I've missed her lips. Ahhh they still taste like strawberry's.

"Sorry. I just really missed your lips." I say when air becomes an issue then hug Mal tightly. "And I really missed you."

"I missed you to Sage."

"A...a...are you staying in a hotel?"

"I actually have no clue where I'm staying."

"Good then you're staying here."

"Sounds good." Mal says then we are called into the living room. Some of the girls had ordered a bunch of pizzas so we sat around and ate and I caught up with everyone on what I missed in their lives. I missed a lot.

We talked and ate until 9 at night and people started to trickle out and head to their hotels. I went and took a shower then waited in my bed, that I haven't slept in once, for Mal.

"I'm so glad your back" Mal says while she stares into my eyes as we lay in bed.

"Me too." I say then peck her lips. She then rolls over and I pull her close to me and wrap my arm around her waist. "Goodnight babe. I love you."

"I love you too." I hear Mal say right before I fall asleep

Mal's POV

My eyes shoot open when I hear heavy breathing. I look over to see Sage sitting on the bed and her chest is moving up and down rapidly so I rush around to her side and squat in front of her.

"Baby whats wrong?" I ask while trying to remain calm.

"I...Can't...Breathe..." Sage says between breathes.

"CARLI...CHRISTEN...SOMEBODY" I yell then hear people run into the room.

"Mal wha-" Carli goes to say until she sees her daughters state and she runs over to her. She cups Sage's face to make her look at her "Sage I need you to just focus on me. Okay. You are fine. Everyone is safe. Nobody is hurt." Carli then pulls Sage into a hug and puts Sage's head on her chest. "You're safe baby. I promise. Just listen to my heartbeat and try to slow down your breathing. In and out, in and out. There you go baby." Finally Sage gets her breathing back.

"S...S...S...Sorry." Sage says.

"It's okay baby." Carli says and notices Sage getting sleepy. "It's okay Sage. Got to sleep. Everyone will be here when you wake up." Sage nods and crawls back into bed. Carli, Christen, and I go into the kitchen and Christen grabs three bottles of water.

"I'm sorry for waking you. I...I didn't know what to do." I say.

"It's okay Mal. I just hope this doesn't become a recurring thing." Carli says. We stand in the kitchen not talking after that. everyone was just replaying what just happened in their minds.

Eventually we all went back to bed and as soon as I got into bed Sage cuddled up to me making me smile and kiss her head.

"I love you Sage." I say then try to sleep.

"Love chu too Mal" I hear Sage say before I go to sleep.
