Sage's POV

Mom and I were chilling in the living room when her phone rang in her room and I got up to get it for her, since she had the big legs on, but she told me to leave it and she'll call whoever back. Five minutes later my phone rang and it was a FaceTime from Christen.

"Hey Chrissy" I say with a smile on my face.

"Hi Sage."

"How are you?" I ask

"I'm good how are you?"

"I'm good. So whats up?"

"Um I need to tell you something. Is your mom with you?"

"Yeah..." I say and scoot over to Mom.

"Hey beautiful" Mom says when she sees Christen on the phone

Christen blushes. "Hey babe"

"So what do you need to tell us?" Mom asks.

"So as you both know I decided to not play for Houston. So I signed a contract with a different team." Christen says.

"What team?"

"A team in Sweden."

"How long will you be gone?"

"Three months." DAMN

"And...and then you'll be back" I say.

"Hopefully Sage. And even if I don't have an NWSL team by then I promise you I will come see the both of you as soon as my contract is up." I zone out after that and wait to talk to Mom.

"Mom?"

"Yeah"

"She's gonna be so far away." I say trying not to break down. "Why couldn't Sky Blue give her a contract?"

"I don't know baby. But she is coming back and you can face time her and call her and text her. I know it won't be anything like seeing her and holding her...and kissing her...sorry got off track for a minute. She isn't leaving forever."

"I know...it's just..."

"What is it Sage?"

"It's stupid."

"Nothing is ever stupid. So what's wrong sweetheart?"

"Well ever since you two started dating Chrissy has become like my other mother and I miss her when I can't see her. And now knowing she won't be back till the summer sucks. I know I could never miss her more than you do, but I'm just really going to miss her.

"I will too baby, but you have pictures of her to look at when you miss her and she is always a phone call away."

Right now I'm about to land in DC to visit Mal for about 5 days since Sky Blue don't have a game this week and more importantly it's Mal's birthday. My birthday was a couple weeks ago during the Mexico friendlies and it was amazing. I got a lot of presents and of course Mom spoiled me, unfortunately though I got sick the day after my birthday and couldn't really do anything during those friendlies which sucked.

Before I left the Philadelphia airport, which is the closest to Mom and I, Mal decided to be a tease and she sent me a very provocative picture. I didn't notice the picture until I was about to takeoff so I was very frustrated for the hour long flight.

Once at the airport I went to get my bag then waited to see Mal. Finally I found my bag and looked around and saw Mal looking at her phone so I went up to her and tapped her on the shoulder. She went to say something, but I cut her off by smashing my lips on hers and kissing her passionately for like ten minutes.
