Sage's POV

Well Mal got food poising from the restaurant and wasn't allowed to play, much to her dismay, so right now her and I are in my room before the game and she is trying to sleep since she didn't get much last night due to her becoming best friends with the toilet, if you know what I mean.

Christen started the game which I was excited about, but Mom was on the bench unfortunately. In the tenth minute Lindsey played a ball into Alex and she shot but the Canadian goalkeeper blocked it for a corner kick. On the ensuing corner kick Pinoe sent in a cross that Julie got on the end of for a goal making it 1-0 in the eleventh minute. In the 20th minute Kelley played a through ball to Alex that she chased to the end line before sending a pass to pinoe who redirected it wide of goal. In the 32nd minute Lindsey played a pass back to the center backs but Christine Sinclair intercepted it and shot just wide of goal while falling down. In the 47th minute Leon fouled Abby, who had the ball, but the ref didn't call it so she ran towards goal then stupidly shot at goal even though she had runners into the box. In the 50th minute Canada scored to make it 1-1. I didn't see who scored it though. In the 56th minute Chrissy stole the ball from Canada then played a through ball to Alex who slotted it home. Needless to say I was very happy. In the 65th minute Lindsey crossed it to Pinoe who was wide open and shot it but it was saved. Mom was put in in the 75th minute and five minutes later Pinoe crossed a ball to Alex who headed it down and Mom got on the end of and scored. I'm surprised Mal didn't wake up with how loud I cheered.

The game was interrupted by Mal sprinting to the bathroom so I followed her in there and missed the last 10 minutes of the game. I thought she was getting better because she hadn't thrown up in a couple of hours, but hopefully this will be the last time.

Once the players got back Mom texted me and said to come to the conference room and to bring Mal. "Mal...Mal...babe" I say trying to wake her up after the team gets back. Eventually she wakes up. "The teams at dinner. You don't have to eat but it would still be good to make an appearance and let Dawn check on you okay?" She nods and then lifts her arms up, indicating she wants to be carried, and gives me the puppy dog eyes.

"You know I can't say no to you." I say with a smile then pick her up putting my hands under her thighs to support her when she wraps her legs around me. She then wraps her arms around my neck and buried her neck into me. After she was comfortable in my arms I walked us to the elevator and then we made our way to the conference room where all the team was sitting together.

"Who do you want to sit by Mal?" I whispered into her ear.

"Christen." She lazily replied. I took her over to Christen and set her down in the seat next to her who immediately comforted the younger forward. After I sat her down I went and sat next to Mom.

"Nice goal Mom." I said with a smile.

"Thanks sweetheart." She said then kissed my temple.

"What did you two get up to during the game?" Alex asked

"Well Mal slept from an hour before you guys left till the 82nd minute when she had to use the bathroom and I just made songs."

"How many?" Ash asks.

"Two."

"You made two songs during the game?" Kling asks.

"Yeah."

"One of them I made because I really want to go to China"

"The other one I did was because Mal was asleep for a long time"

"How fast do you think you can make one now?" Tobin asks.

"25 minutes." They all look at me dumbfounded. "You don't believe me do you?"

"No offense but no." Kelley says.

"Alright well I'll prove it." I say then get out my computer and headphones then connect it to the projector so everyone can see what I'm doing.

"Ready?" I ask and the girls nod so I get down to business forgetting that everyone is watching. This really isn't difficult for me, but the team looks amazed at how fast I'm doing this. And true to my word it took me 25 minutes to make a song. "Alright ready to hear it." They nod and I hook up my computer to the speaker and press play.

"How the hell did you make that in 25 minutes?" Kling asks.

"I mean this is all I did for five years so I know every shortcut and so it's not that difficult." I say.

"Still like what the hell." I just shrug. After that Mom changes the conversation thankfully and soon after it was time to go to bed. Mal wanted to be with Chrissy so I got to do one of my favorite things ever. Cuddle with Mom. We do this a lot, but shit I don't mind. It still amazes me how I got so lucky to have such a caring and loving mother.
