Today Mia walks down the stage with her blue gown as Joaquin and I stood back to clapping loudly. She lets go of a smile but looks around, I know she magically hopes her mother appears from the dark corner but she doesn't. It's been two years and no one seen her, Perez swears his close, never giving up. Joaquin has been distant as usual but on a social network, he seems to be busier than usual.
I continue to asked him how's holding up but it's the same, "I'm good, loving life, living to the fullest" his Ig headline for everything. But today is about Mia, for the first time in two years we're together cheering and smiling. As we head out to dinner, we all sit and pray for their mothers' return. It wasn't the same without her, Joaquin stops celebrating his birthday all together.

Sleep no longer comes, I have combed every single itch in this state. Nothing. Every time I would get closer I would lose my mind, it played awful tricks on me; thinking I see her in every corner but it's not her. Do I start to wonder if she ran away instead, Did she not want to be found?
As I pulled up mid-central La, I pulled into a gas station I swear for a moment I saw her run around the corner. I run out my car to follow her into the shitty unisex restroom to only be standing there alone as I was about to rush out of the restroom something grab my attention and there it was in the top right corner, a cross with a star. This is the same drawing I've been seen everywhere. I knew it was her, she would say god would save her one day as he always pointed north like a star. It was like a sign, I started marking all the buildings on the map where I've seen it. Her marks everywhere, I start all over again. Start from the beginning there's was a pattern. They're moving her up north, towards Washington, sick bastard moving her so she won't be found.
