"MADDIE!" I heard my mum scream my name, way to early in the morning for me to handle.
"YEAH?" I yelled back, obviously in a bad mood.
"COME DOWN NOW!" She shouted back, and I could hear the irritation in her voice, that's when I knew not to mess with her any more. I rolled out of bed, slapped on an oversized jumper, and walked my way down to the kitchen. My hair was a mess, I forgot to dry it after having a shower the night before, and fell instantly asleep, leaving my hair in a very bad state this morning.
As I stumbled into the main living room, my brother was lying in his underwear, half asleep while watching some TV. He was two years older than me, which made him very annoying.
"Hey mum" I said, as I walked into the kitchen, finding her making breakfast. She turned around and smiled.
"Well I sure had to call you for a hell of a lot of time before you moved your fat arse over here!" She said, a slight chuckle in her voice. I laughed along with her, after pulling my tongue out to her. Anyone who wasn't familiar with this family would have thought she was rude, but that was just the way we were around each other : we teased, insulted, made fun of ; it was all in good spirit. I really loved my family a lot.
As I started to lay the table for breakfast, she asked me to go wake my dad up. I happily obliged, and set everything down on the tabled and heading up the stairs. We had a really big house, my dad being some successful accountant of some sort. There was a pool, a cinema, a game room, 6 rooms, 5 bathrooms and several living rooms. Us being a family of 4, it made sure we always had room for visitors.Once I made my way down the long corridor, I opened the door to my parents room, as slowly as possible, making sure not to make any noise. I walked very slowly to the bed, giggling slightly to myself. When I was close enough, I shouted and jumped onto my dad, who woke up instantly with a worried look on his face.
"Oh dear God Mad you almost gave me a heart attack!" He whispered, recovering from my surprise.
"Sorry dad!" I chuckled lightly before giving he pulled me into a big bear hug. "Okay okay, you can let me go! Anyway, breakfast is almost ready." I said as I pulled away, and headed back down the stairs, past where my brother had been, and back into the kitchen. The table had been layed, Ben was finally dressed and sitting in his chair, waiting for the food to come. As I sat next to him, I asked my mum if I could help, she just shook her head and brought the food to the table.
After a nice family breakfast, I walked up to my room and got ready for the day. I tried to tame my hair, washed my face, put on a cute outfit and did my make up very lightly. I was meeting my best friend, Aylin in town today, she said she had some big news for me.
As I walked out of my room, checking my phone and saw I had 6 missed calls from Aylin. Just as I was about to call her, my phone buzzed in my hand and I answered.
"Hello?" I asked, not sure why she called me so many times.
"Hey Maddie, where are you?" I heard she was getting annoyed, I was running a little late.
"I'm so sorry, I'm heading out my house now, I'll be there in 5." She hung up after sighing.
I quickly said goodbye to my mum, and rushed out the house and almost ran to the park, where we were meeting up. I saw her on our favourite bench, clearly looking annoyed. I walked up, bracing myself to what was about to happen. As soon as she saw me she walked to me stomping her feet.
"Where the hell were you? I told you I had major news for you!" She was now yelling at me, I just knew to let her finish talking. "I was worried, you're never late! You almost gave me a heart attack, especially because you weren't aswering your phone!" She stared at me with her big brown eyes, letting me know she was done talking.
"I'm really sorry I was running late, I don't know what happened." I said pulling her into a hug, I knew she wasn't genuinely mad at me, and I just wanted to know the "major news" she had.
As if she read my mind, she exclaimed : "Soooooooo, do you want to know the big news?" I nodded frantically, and she reached for her purse. "You and I... ARE GOING TO SEE 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER IN CONCERT!" She yelled the last part, holding out two tickets and waving them in my face. I was quite surprised, I wasn't actually quite sure who they were, or why she was so pumped about this concert. I still smiled, and did our signature "happy dance" in the middle of the crouded park. I didn't care, I hadn't seen my best friend this happy in a long time, so I was going to play along. After hearing her babble on about "how blue Luke's eyes were", or how "Ashton's dimples are the cutest thing she ever saw", for about 2 hours, it was finally time for lunch, and we headed of to our favourite place to eat, Nando's. As soon as we were seated, I started wondering seriously why she was so worked up about this band. I thought about it while she was looking up and down the menu. I didn't find any answers, so after the waitress brought us our drinks, I looked her straight in the eyes.
"Ay? Why are you so excited about this concert? We have been to loads before but I never saw you this excited about one before!" I asked.
"Well, there's a few reasons.. Their music is awesome, it's just my type, plus they're all really good looking, and about our age." She stopped there, winking at me before she kept on going. "And, we have front seat tickets, which means we'll be super close to them, and finally, I also managed to get tickets for the meet and greet afterwards!" Now she was glowing, a massive smile on her face, her eyes shining.
"Have you got their music on your phone?" I asked, quite curious about this band. She nodded, and pulled out her phone, playing a song that was apparently called "English Love Affair". I thought the lyrics were a bit cheeky for a boys band, I mean "drinking all the way to third base" ? I'm pretty sure they have 12 years-old listening to their music. Anyway I smiled at her, agreeing that their music was fun and upbeat. I would have a great time.
"When is this concert?" I asked, suddenly realising I hadn't even asked my parents yet.
"It's next Saturday, and then you can come over at my place after and sleep over" She asked, trying to convince me.
"I'll have to ask my parents, but I'm sure they'll say yes." I smiled at her before our food arrived, and we dug in.
