Sweet revenge.

I sat down on the couch and caught a glimpse of a note on the table. I bent over, picked it up, and read it.

Hey Mad! I was really worried last night when you didn’t come home! I fell asleep, but when I woke up this morning, I found you in bed with that guy Ashton? What the hell? Just last week you were making out with that tall blond one with the lip ring! 

Anyway, I’m out of town today with Em, and Mum and Dad should be back around 8PM. I’ll be back tomorrow morning.

I chuckled and plugged my iPod in the stereo system, put on some Blink music -I’m obsessed with this band- and started dancing around like a freak. Call me weird, I was just happy, something I hadn’t been in a long time. 

When I got out of breath, I stopped and went up to my room, grabbed my school stuff and came back down to the living room, and I started  working. After about 2 hours of learning -finals were coming soon- I lay back down on the couch, and texted Mike.

Hey, what’s up? I asked, feeling bored. The reply came almost instantly.

We’re recording a new song, wanna come? He replied. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to see Luke again, but I had worked hard, and deserved to go see Ashton.

Sure! I texted quickly and got ready. I showered, dried my hair, put some makeup on. I grabbed a nice cosy jumper, leggings and a scarf and got dressed. I checked my phone again.

I’ll text you the adress in a sec, let me just ask the manager (I have no fucking clue where we are) I laughed and grabbed my purse, walked downstairs and put on my comfy black boots, and sunglasses, and was out the door. I looked at the adress he had sent me a couple minutes later, looked it up on Internet and headed to the subway. I got in, and sat down, slipping in my headphones. After a couple minutes into the ride, I felt tapping on my shoulder. I looked to my right, and saw 2 teenage girls.

«Hi, can I help you?» I asked, confused.

«Yes, are you Maddison Lynch?» The tallest one of the two said.

«Um, yes.» It sounded more like a question than an affirmation. As I said this, the girls grinned. I was getting more and more confused. 

«Could we get a photo with you?» The other one said. Okay, this was ridiculous.

«Sure, but why?» I asked. 

«Well, you’re really close to the boys, and we really ship Mashton!» They giggled excitedly. I almost let out a ‘what the fuck?’ but then realised they were talking about Ash Cal Luke and Mike, and ‘Mashton’ must of gotten started because of the Keeks and tweets Ash posted of us. I remember him posting hashtag Mashton on one of the photos, as a joke.

«Oh, okay, I understand.» I smiled. They got closer to me and got out their camera. I smiled awkwardly at the camera, and when they took the photo they were jumping with excitement. ‘This is getting creepy.’ I thought to myself.

«Will you follow me on Twitter?» The tallest one asked.

«Sure.» I hugged them goodbye as I reached my stop.

That was fucking weird.

I texted Mike telling him I was almost there, and walked over to the tall building that read «Hi or Hey Records». 

I pushed the glass door open and walked to the front desk.

«Hi, could you show me to 5 Seconds Of Summer please?» I asked politely.

«Sure, what’s your name sweetie?» The woman said.

«Maddison Lynch.» I smiled. She checked a list, and looked back up.

«Walk down this hall» She said pointing to a long corridor to my left. «And keep on going until you reach the room that says ‘5SOS’.» She smiled.

«Thanks!» I said and walked down the corridor. I stopped in front of the recording room, and the red light was up. I knew that meant I couldn’t actually walk in. I texted Mike telling him I was outside the room. A couple minutes later, he opened the door and pulled me into a hug.

«Hey! How have you been after last night?» He asked gently. He was referring to the fact we heard Luke fucking my best friend. Anger rose up in me, but I ignored it and smiled.

«Good, actually, Ash took care of me.» I said.

«Did he now?» He said winking.

«Oh my God Michael Gordon Clifford your mind is in the gutter!» I laughed and smacked his arm.

«I know, I know.» He said. «I’ve gotta go back in, but you can sit here and listen.» 

He smiled and walked back behind the glass window and put his headphones back on. I looked around, and saw couches, about 5 guitars and losts of records hung up on the walls. I sat down and looked up at the boys. Cal was trying to sing his line, but Ash and Luke kept disturbing him by making him laugh. My heart started breaking when I saw Luke so happy. He had been a dick to me, yet I couldn’t help but be attracted to him. He had made out with me, tried to have sex, and then hooked up with my best friend after ignoring me for a week? He was such an arse, but I couldn’t stay mad at him. 

I listened to them record an acoustic version of Heartbrake Girl, and then Ashton’s demo of Don’t Stop. As Ash was the only one to sing for this, all the other boys came out, grabbed a bottle of water and flopped on the couches next to me. 

«You guys were awesome, it’s funny to see the ‘behind the scenes’» I said smiling.

«Thanks hon, it’s nice to have you here!» Cal said. Luke still ignored me. I had a plan. I stared at Calum, and walked out of the room, saying I had to phone my mum. 

As expected, a minute later Calum was out of the room and joined me. 

«What’s up?» He asked concerned.

«Don’t think I’m a bitch, but I have to make Luke jealous.» I went straight to the point. He looked kinda surprised, but he rolled with it. 

«Oh, um, okay, what are you thinking?» He said.

«Well, I’m gonna get all lovey-dovey with Ash in front of Luke.» I smiled evilly.

«Why?» He asked.

«Why? Because he had sex with my fricking best friend after ignoring me for a week, knowing I had feelings for him! He needs a taste of his own medicine.» I snapped.

«Okay!» He tapped my shoulder. «Did you need me to help you with anything?» He said.

«Yes, I need you to make him feel bad.» I said, poking his chest with my finger on ‘you’. He didn’t seem convinced.

«Are you sure?» He said.

«Fine, don’t help me, I’ll do it alone.» I said.

«I’m sorry, I don’t think I can actually try and hurt my best friend.» He said, sadly.

«I know, I understand. Sorry for being selfish.» I hugged him, genuinely sorry I had just asked him that. He walked back into the room, and I followed a little while after. 

Ash was recording the last lyric, and he came out and grinned at me. He then walked over and put his arms around my waist, pulled me close to him, and looked straight in my eyes. I felt my heart beat faster and my cheeks growing warmer. Did I have legit feelings for Ash? I don’t know.. He leant in and pulled me in a kiss, and that’s when, once again, the butterflies erupted in my tummy. I put my hands around his neck, and let our lips collide, and make my insides explode.

«Okay, love birds, if we could go grab some food, I am starving!» Mike said. Cal laughed, but as I looked over to Luke, he looked sad and as staring at his lap. I felt a little surge of proudness as I started my plan.
