Everything's not what it seems.

*Maddie’s POV*

 What was I supposed to answer? I couldn’t say yes, because I would look stupid : he had moved on, and had a new girlfriend. And there I was, wanting to get him back? No, no way. But I couldn’t lie to him either. That would be bad, especially if anyone found out - and it seemed like Ashton had.

So I did what I thought of first, I excused myself and walked away quickly.

I went to the front of the bus, where Rita was on her phone, so I joined her on the couch.

«Oh hey Mad. How’re you?» She said, looking up from her phone over to where I was plopped down on the couch.

«Not very good, to be honest.» I answered truthfully.

«What’s wrong?» She asked, putting her phone away and turning towards me. 

«Well..» I started, not really sure where to start. «You know I broke up with Ashton.» I said, and she nodded, waiting for me to go on. «And you also know I still have feelings for Luke.» I kept going, once again, she nodded. «And I think Ashton knows it.» I said, looking up at her. 

«Oh.» She said, simply.

«Yeah.» I answered.

«Why do you think that?» She said, after a while.

«He slapped Luke, and then Luke came and asked me if it was true that I had broken up with Ashton because of him.» I said, trying to remember the details.

«Oh, so not only does Ashton know, but so does Luke?» She asked, and I shook my head.

«No, I didn’t answer. But I think he’s onto it.» I whispered, because I heard a noise behind me. I turned around and saw Reese making herself a cup of tea, not looking at us. But she might’ve heard our conversation, so I had to make sure.

«Hey Reese?» I asked as nicely as possible. She turned around, looking quite surprised.

«Yeah?» She said, sounding confused.

«Did you hear anything we just said?» I asked her. A smirk was planted on her face, and I wanted to slap her.

«Yes, I did.» She said, getting the teabag out of her cup, putting the spoon in the sink, and leaning against the counter, holding her cup with both her hands. Then, her smirk disapeared and was replaced with a bitchy look. «And Luke’s mine now. He completely forgot about you, you selfish, ignorant ugly bitch.» She said, staring me down. Before I could say anything, I heard Luke’s voice coming down from the back of the bus.

*Luke’s POV*

What I heard Reese say was unbelievable. She was never like that around me, she was always polite and nice. Was this really what she acted like when I wasn’t around? She was yelling obscenities to Maddie, and quite loudly too - which meant I heard them, and was able to step in.

«Woah there, Maddie’s none of those things.» I said, walking into the kitchen area, where all 3 girls were stood. Maddie’s eyes lit up when she heard me, but Reese’s turned dark for a second, before she smiled widely. 

«Hey babe!» She said sweetly and pulled me in for a hug, but I pushed her away.

«Who were you talking to like that?» I asked, even though I knew the answer.

«What are you talking about, babe?» She asked in an overly sweet voice.

«He’s talking about the fact that you’re a 2 faced slut!» Maddie yelled, and walked past us and towards the bunks, Rita following her.
