Moving on.

Ashton and Luke turned around when they heard the thump on the stairs and the heavy breathing. God, I was such a wimp, but that didn’t stop me. Ash walked back up a couple steps and knealt , next to me, as he had done so many times before.

«Hey hon, breathe in.» I did as he told me. «Now out.» I obeyed again. My cheeks were slighlty damp from the tears, but I didn’t care. I couldn’t face Luke after what had happened last night. So I walked back up to the room. When I closed the door behind me, I heard Ash walk down the stairs, and I heard muffled voices, but couldn’t make out what they were saying. I sighed, and realised how vulnerable I had been since I met the boys. I was thinking of school -we had a couple weeks left before summer break started- and the homework I had to do. I thought about going home and getting it done, so I got up and out of the room. I walked into Mikey when I was texting mum to tell her I was heading home.

«Ouch, sorry.» He mumbled. I could see he had a massive hangover, and mine wasn’t a bed of roses either.

«Don’t worry about it.» I smiled. «I’m heading home, I guess I’ll see you soon?» I asked as I pulled him into a hug.

«Sure.» He smiled. «Don’t forget, you chould probably go check on Ay.» He winked. I nodded and chuckled at the thought.

I made my way to Cal’s room, and knocked.

«Yeah?» I heard a girl’s voice. Relieved, I opened the door and walked in. She was dressed, and her hair was damp. Her hangover looked bad. She was sitting on the bed, her head in her hands. I sat next to her, and we waited in silence for a few minutes.

«What happened last night?» She asked.

«Quite a few things.» I replied. «But let’s talk about the fact that you ended up in Cal’s bed. How did that happen?» I changed the subject and winked.

«I honestly don’t know, because I have feelings for Luke.» She chuckled. I sighed inside, but smiled.

«Yeah. Did you two do anything, or...?» I asked, suspiciously.

«Hopefully not. I mean, no, we woke up dressed.» She sighed with relief.

«Well that’s good.» I smiled. «I’m gonna head home, you coming?» I asked.

«Sure, let me just grab my stuff.» She said, I noddded.

I knocked on the bathroom door, and Cal opened with nothing but a towel over his hips. He was fidling with his rasor, so it gave me time to ogle his chest and abs. He had  tattoos on the top of his chest, and a couple others on his body. Damn, he was hot. I considered myself lucky to be friends with such handsome rockstars. Anyway he looked up, and I smiled.

«Ay and I are heading home, we’ll see ya soon?» I said, hugging him quickly not wanting to make things awkward due to his lack of clothing. He nodded and pulled Ay in a hug also.

We walked out of the room, and down the stairs. I didn’t want to see Luke, but I was going to suck it up and I plastered a smile on my face. I didn’t look at Luke when I past him in the kitchen. I could see he was confused, I didn’t know if he even remembered what I had told him.  I shrugged to myself, and went looking for Ashton. I walked around, and went into their backyard. I saw him, sitting on the side of the pool, his feet dangling over the water. I smiled, and walked over.

«Ay and I are heading home, I’ll see you soon?» I said the same thing I had told the others. He turned around and smiled.

«Sure thing, hon.» He pulled me in a tight hug.

«Good, thanks sooooo much for last night.» I smiled in his chest.

«It was my pleasure. Litteraly, I love taking care of you.» He said kissing the top of my head. «If you don’t mind me asking, what happened last night that put you in such a state?» He said concerned. I looked up, straight in his eyes. I didn’t want to talk about it right now, and I tried to make that appear clearly through my eyes. He got the hint. «Okay, just remember. If you want to talk, I’m right here.» He pulled me back in a tighter hug. I smiled, and walked away. Ay was walking out of the house at that moment, so I waited for her while she said goodbye to Ash. She had already said goodbye to Luke, so when we walked back in, I made a straight line to the door. I felt Luke’s eyes on me, but didn’t budge. I kept on walking until we were out the door.

We got home, after walking for a little while, we chatted aimlessly about the events of the night before. When we got home (we went back to my place), we went to put our bikinis on, we wanted to have a splash in the pool.

We walked into the backyard, and inflated the mattress. I put my sunglasses on, grabbed a drink of my favourite iced tea, and hopped on the mattress. I lay my hand in the cold water, splashing some on my stomach. Ay was paddling next to me, she hated sunbathing. I usually did to, but it was a nice sunny day, and I wanted to get my tan on for the upcoming summer.

We chatted for a while, before starting talking about the boys.

«So, how are things going with Luke?» She asked.

«Not good, I don’t think anything will be happening any time soon.» I muttered. I was mad at him for forcing me to tell him something I wasn’t ready to share.

«So, he isn’t out of bounds?» She smiled.

«Go for it.» I smiled back, not thinking.

I went to turn on some music, slipping in my favourite CD, Blink-182, Greatest Hits. Aylin shook her head in disagreement, and hopped out of the pool. She grabbed another CD from her purse, but I didn’t get the time to see what it was.

She slipped it in the stereo, and put the Blink one back in its box. As I heard the first chords of the first song, I recognised the familiar «hey, hey, heys» at the beginning. I smiled like an idiot as I heard the lyrics.

Simmer down, simmer down, they say we’re too young now to amount to anything else, but look around, we’ve worked to damn hard for this just to give it up now..

I thought about the lyrics, and was surprised at how true they were. They were only in their teen years (well, except for Ashton); and they had already taken over the world. I had read an article about them being the first band, after the Beatles, to have ‘invaded’ America so quickly. As I thought about that, a feeling of proudness crept upon me. Even though I hadn’t known them for long, I felt like they belonged in my life. I daydreamed for a bit, when Ay walked up to me.

«I’m gonna head home, my mum’s probably worried.» She said rolling her eyes. I snapped out of my thoughts, and hugged her tight.

«I love you, call if there’s a problem.» I said holding her tight.

«I will, love you too.» And she was out.

I checked my phone, I had a couple missed calls from  Luke and Ash. I didn’t bother to call them back, and I went to have another shower, to get rid of the chlorine of the pool.

I relaxed on my bed, and fell asleep instantly. Surprinsingly, I slept better than I had for a long time.
