Mashton?

We walked to his car, he hopped in the drivers seat, and me in the passenger seat. He revved the engine, and turned the radio on, loud. We sang along to the songs we knew, at the top of our lungs. Even though Ash doesn’t sing in the official tracks that the band releases, he has an A-MA-ZING voice. And I mean it too.

«How come you don’t sing in the band?» I asked as we stopped at a red light.

«All our concerts are live, and drumming takes up most of my breath. I only get a line or two in songs like Amnesia when there isn’t much drumming to be done. We want high energy on stage, and only Mike Cal and Luke can do that while playing their instrument.» He explained looking in the rearview mirror. I nodded understandingly. Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball came on the radio, and Ash cranked up the volume, we opened the windows and sang as loudly as we could. We got lots of stares, but we didn’t care, it was too much fucking fun.

Ashton drove up to the movie theater. I smiled at him, and we walked out of the car. He locked the doors, grabed my hand and started walking towards the entrance. I followed, a smug smile on my face. We had done nothing but drive, and I was already feeling better. Ash was like a magician, he knew me off by heart, and we only met each other about a month ago.

«What are we going to see?» I asked, curious.

«You’ll see.» He answered grinning. I rolled my eyes.

«Fine, whatever. I’ll go fetch the popcorn, and you get the tickets. I’ll pay you back later.» I smiled.

«Oh no, you won’t.» He said and turned towards the cashier, who freaked out. She probably recognised him from the band. I smiled, and walked to the popcorn counter. I asked for a jumbo bowl of salty popcorn -Ash and I prefer salt to sugar- , handed over 5 dollars, and waited for the chubby man to fill it up. I smiled and thanked him as he handed me the tub and the change. I walked back up to Ashton who was waiting in line. He handed me a ticket, I looked at the name of the film and almost threw the popcorn to the floor with excitement.

«Are they even still showing this movie?» I almost yelled.

«Hey, people are staring, calm down!» He said, covering my mouth with his hand. I instantly shut up, and his hand slid down my jawline and rested on my shoulder. We stared into each others eyes for a moment, when we heard coughing. I looked up, and a man in his twenties held his hands out for our tickets. I smiled shyly and handed him my ticket.

«Casino Royale, classic.» He said. «Go to the left, and it’s room number 9.» He smiled, tore the top bit of our tickets, and handed them back to us. We smiled and followed his directions.

We walked into the room, and we sat in the back row.

«How did you know this is my favourite movie?» I asked him once we had settled down and the adverts had started.

«I heard you mention it a few times.» He winked at me and took my hand. I laced our fingers together, and smiled at the tingling feeling I got doing so.

The movie started, and we diverted our attention onto it. About half way through the film, we both reached into the popcorn, and had a competition of who could catch most of them in our mouths. Ash won by far, but as we giggled an elderly couple that was seated a few rows further, turned around and shushed us. Which, really, only made us laugh louder, but we did our best not to make too much noise. We calmed down, and we concentrated on the movie once again. In the romantic scene, Ash reached over for my hand, and bought it up to his mouth. I felt his soft lips plant a sweet and soft kiss on the back of it. The contact with his lips gave me goosebumps, but I ignored them. Ashton was just a friend, right? No, he wasn’t. He was more than that, he had always been there, whenever I needed him. Everytime Luke broke a piece of me, Ashton glued it back together, wrapped it up, put a big bow around it and handed it back to me, a huge grin on his face. He was perfect - at least I thought so. We watched the end of the movie, our hands intertwined and resting on my thigh.

As the credits rolled, he got up and nearly ran out of the theater. I struggled keeping up, and almost fell flat on my face about 5 times. We walked out into the fresh air, but he didn’t stop there. He ran, taking a sharp turn at he right of the theater. I laughed my head off, being pulled by his strong arms. He suddenly stopped, and stood there, grinning. I looked around, and realised we were in a playground. I chuckled as I took in the surroundings : there was a swing set, a slide, monkey bars, and a what I was most excited about - a seesaw. I giggled and looked at Ash, not believing he had bought me here.

«Race you to the swings?» He grinned and was off, running towards the swing set. I thanked heaven I had opted for flats, and I raced after him. I grasped his hand, and pulled him towards me to make it first. He stumbled backwards, and bumped into me. I just laughed and kept on running. But he held me back, and I fell on my bum. He bent down next to me, concerned. I could have fun with this.

«Ow, that really hurt.» I sighed.

«I’m so sorry, I didn’t want to hurt you!» He said, panicking.

«I know you didn’t mean to, but fucking hell it hurts.» I said, scrunching up my eyes and bent forward.

«Do you want me to call for help? Can you get up?» He asked.

«I don’t know, help me up.» I said, sitting up and holding out my hand. He grabbed it, but before he could react I pulled him down to me, and he dropped to the floor next to me. I exploded in laughter, I laid back down, laughing my arse off. Ash was laughing along next to me. He was still lying on the floor, but had turned to his side, and was looking at me.

«I hate you.» He stated, a huge grin on his face. I leant in, and kissed his cheek.

«I love you too» I said laughing. His grin grew wider and we both got up. I wiped my hands on my jeans, and walked over to the swings as Ash was still fixing his hair.

«Beat you.» I said, as he walked over. He smiled, and he sat on the swing next to me. We stayed there for a while, rocking back and forth slowly. We then played games, like who could jump the furthest off of the swing. As the final round came up, Ash was waiting for me to land. I was rocking back and forth like a maniac trying to go highest possible.

«You’ll catch me if I fall, right?» I called out.

«Always.» He smiled and opened his arms, ready to catch me. I counted down, and on 0, I jumped from the swing. I tumbled on my feet, but didn’t fall down. Ashton still wrapped his arms around me protectively. We were both laughing as I looked up to him. I could hardly see his face anymore, it was now completely dark outside. We both leant in, trying to get a better look at each other. Our faces were about an inch away, and we both stopped laughing, and as I looked down to his lips, he had stopped smiling completely. Was I making things awkward? Was I not doing something right? Did I have something on my fa-

Scratch that. His lips connected with mine gently, giving me a quick peck, pulled his lips away. I smiled, and created contact in between our lips once again. He beant down, and we deepened the kiss. He licked my bottom lips, as I nibbled on his top lip. His hand found its way to my waist and pulled me closer to him. One of my hands was playing with his hair, pulling it in all different directions. My other hand rested on his jaw, and gently rubbed the stubble that was there. We pulled away, out of breath. I rested my forehead against his.

«I’ve wanted to do this for a long time.» He whispered. As I thought about it, I realised that I too, had been waiting for him.

«Me too.» I smiled, and gave him a quick peck, as if to illustrate what I was saying.
