«Ashton, we need to talk.» Maddie told me, a serious look on her face. My own scrunched up in confusion, but I nodded nonetheless.

«Sure.» I added as we walked further away from the bus. If this was headed where I thought it was, it wasn’t good.

«Ashton..» She started, but stopped, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. This was definitely it.

«Shhh, Maddie, I know what you’re going to say, it’s okay.» I said, pulling her into a hug as I fought back my own tears.

«I’m so, so sorry.» She said, sniffling in my tshirt.

«Shh, it’s okay.» I said, rubbing up and down her back. She then pulled away, wiped the tears away, gave me a shy smile, and walked back to the others. So just like that, we had broken up. In silence. But in some way, I’d rather that, than some over-made excuse, that would make me doubt her motives.

Breathing deeply for a few seconds, I rubbed the threatening tears out of my eyes and plastered a smile on my face, walking back to the group. By then, Luke and Mike had arrived, but Reese still hadn’t come. I glanced at Maddie, who was leaning on the bus, a blank expression on her face. She didn’t seem relieved, which was weird, because if she broke up with me, that’s what she must of felt, right? Geez I really don’t understand girls. I don’t know what she feels, but what I feel is shock. Complete and utter shock. And also confusion. We were completely fine, why did she want to break up? That’s when I remembered what she’d said on the plane. It’s all just too much at once.

So she did want to break up with me, but not because she doesn’t like me, but because of what comes with dating a celebrity - not that I consider myself famous. Deep in my thoughts, I didn’t realise that Reese had arrived and everyone was trying to get my attention to get on the bus.

«Ash, you alright mate?» Luke asked, Reese’s arms slung around him.

«Yeah, I’m fine.» I lied, and followed them onto the bus.

When you walk in, you find a lounge area, with a couch, a dining table with benches, and a kitchen area too. Then at the end of that bit, you could find a bathroom, and behind a mirror-door, you find the bunks. There were 8 of them, 4 on each side of the bus, 2 at the top, 2 at the bottom. I hated being at the bottom : what if it falls down and I’m underneath and I die? I don’t know, I don’t want to risk it. Anyway, Max said we’d be assigned the bunks later on. Behind the bunks, another mirror-door. When you opened it, you can find the back lounge, with sofas all around, a TV, gaming systems (requested by Michael). This was an awesome bus, we’d rarely had one as big. We took our ‘survival’ bags onto the bus, the rest of our stuff would be on another bus.

«Ashton, are you sure you’re okay?» Mike asked me. I couldn’t lie to him, I told him everything, always.

«Maddie broke up with me.» I said, looking down to the ground. When Mike didn’t say anything, I looked up at him and saw his mouth slightly parted and eyes wide open.

«What? Why?» He asked.

«Because it’s too much stress dating a ‘celebrity’» I said, still not 100% sure why she had broken up.

«That sucks, I’m sorry mate. I’m here if you wanna talk though.» He told me, laying his hand on my shoulder. I smiled at the blue haired boy and nodded, before walking out of the bus to join everyone outside. They were all off doing different things : Maddie and Rita were talking, seeming serious, Luke was trying to talk to Calum. The key word being ‘try’ : Reese was still attached to him, trying to get his attention. I didn’t like Reese one bit, she was a groupie and probably didn’t care about any of us. I’m not sure Luke had feelings for her either. To be honnest, I think he was trying to make Maddie jealous, but that’s just my humble opinion. Once again, I had zoned out, and Michael had to shake me back to reality.
