A lot of exciting things coming up in the next few chapters. I promise you'll enjoy. But there is a lot of editing to do on them so I might not be updating like I normally do. It will be worth it though, I promise!

Liam stopped me and pushed me gently against a rock. I sat on it without protest and crossed my arms. I felt the blood on my back and my neck, as well as on my face and hands. I knew Veronica looked worse and that's why I wasn't bothered.

I couldn't believe she had come at me like she did. My beast was pacing back and forth with pure rage and fury. She wanted blood, she wanted to put the damned female in her place.

"You're so stupid," Liam told me as he licked his thumb and wiped the blood off my face gently. My nose and mouth were bleeding but only a little.

His hot breath fanned my face and I realised that I wasn't at all mad about fighting Veronica. My beast was pissed but I felt somehow calm. She was the one in the wrong. She was the one who started the fight. She started getting angry at me and started abusing me. I was fine with staring out the window and not saying a word to her until Liam retuned.

I couldn't get in trouble for it. I hadn't done anything. I had defended myself against the crazy, jealous bitch.

"I didn't start the fight, Liam. I swear I didn't," I told him as I looked up. His eyes were fixated on my neck, which was badly bleeding. Veronica was trying to tear out my throat. She was almost successful.

Oh, how she's regret it.

"I know, sugar. But Henry won't believe that," Liam told me softly. I shut my eyes as he ripped the bottom of his shirt and used the fabric to dab at the blood on my neck.

"He should know better than anyone that his daughter is the more likely one to attack out of the two of us. I know better than to throw myself at someone like that," I said angrily. If I were to be punished and Veronica weren't, things would hit the fan.

Henry was different. He made impulse decisions. He didn't use his head and think about things. He said whatever came to his mind and got angry too fast. He wasn't a good Alpha.

"Henry does whatever Veronica wants. She's a daddy's girl and he loves it," Liam sighed out. I softened and looked at him quizzically.

"Are you telling me that I'm definitely going to be the one in trouble?" I asked him. Liam shook his head at me and sighed.

"No, but it's more than likely," Liam replied. I frowned at him and felt a little hurt. Would he stick up for me or let Henry punish me?

"But I'm not going to let him punish you for something that you didn't do, sugar. It's not right, and I've always got to defend my girl," Liam said, answering my unspoken question. I smiled weakly as I looked up at him.

My beast calmed by his presence and his touch. She knew he'd look after us and we cherished it.

"She was the one who started the argument; telling me that you were hers and that I was practically stealing you away from her," I told him. Liam bit his bottom lip slightly but he nodded at me regardless of the look of worry on his face.

"I'm sorry," I told him. He smiled weakly and shook his head as he cupped my cheek in his soft palm.

"Don't be. It's not your fault. I know she started the argument, sugar," Liam replied softly. He bent down and kissed the bridge of my nose gently. His lips were soft and comforting.

"What's her problem, Liam? Why won't she leave you alone? Is she trying to push us apart?" I asked him, hesitantly. I didn't want Veronica to be the reason for all my arguments with Liam. She wasn't that important, but she was there. She was there and it was an issue.
