"My neck is hurting so bad, damn," I tried to stretch muscles, that were in pain for the last week.
"You spent the night in your place, again, am I right?" Mary winked at me.
"Yeah, I should really buy some furniture, because if I spend one more night on the floor, my bones will break completely," I chuckled.
"You just sleep on the floor?" she opened her eyes widely in shock.
"We have an old mattress, but it'd be better to lay on the floor to be honest," I sighed.
"There is actually a shop with a furniture from second hand, we can go there if you want and take a look for a bed or a sofa or something that will stop from making you a cripple."
"Yeah, that would be cool! Tommy is away today, so shopping in the afternoon?" I smiled and Mary clapped enthusiastically."How are you holding up, Shani?" Mary asked me, when we were sitting in my apartment having a tea and some snacks.
"So, so," I smiled sadly. "I am trying not to think about the fact, that he will be away for so long, you know?"
"I can't imagine it, to be honest," Mary frowned, "I am lucky, that my husband works in the city and the furthest he has ever been was Canada and it was with me on our honeymoon," she giggled.
"Well, maybe this will be the last time he has to go. Once he told me, that he actually wants to quit the army," I said.
"That woud be cool," Mary nodded.
"Yeah," I sighed. From time to time a group of students from different universities visited our center to make a research. Some were just curious, some wanted to write a final paper, some had to because of an ethology subject in their school.
This time a group of students from the Agricultural university came and I was asked to keep an eye on them, answer their questions and spend a week with them in our centre. It wasn't for the first time, so I accepted it without a problem.First day was okay. Three boys and two girls. They seemed okay, so I showed them our pack, stables with horses, told them the basics. They wanted to know me better, so we decided to go together and have a lunch in town. Tommy should come back today, so I was thrilled to see him in the evening and I was in a really great mood.
"This is going to be a massive boredom," one of the guys rolled his eyes, when they came outside.
"Yeah," the other nodded and lighted up a cigarette.
"I know, how I will make this stay more fun and enjoyable," the third smirked. "That chick is student, just like us. I have never had a red head before. They say, red heads are passionate."
"Well, I dare you to do it!" the first guy began to laugh and patted his friend on his shoulder.
"That is so lame," girls rolled their eyes, but guys ignored them.
I got outside from the building.
"Damn, I can't find my phone," I murmured and searched in my bag.
When I raised my eyes I saw Tommy.
He was standing not far away from the group of students and he had a really weird look in his eyes.
"Hey," I came to him and he pulled me closer and kissed me. It wasn't the regular kiss, it felt almost possessively. I can't say I didn't like it, I was just taken by surprise.
"Wow," I moaned and I felt like my head is spinning. "I am thrilled to see you too."
"I wanted to surprise you. And I am really glad, that I did so," he narrowed his eyes a little bit and watched students standing next to us.
"Oh, listen," I looked at them and then back at him. "We were just thinking about having lunch in town, right, guys?" I waved at them, to come closer. "They are students from a different university and I'll take care of them for the next week, so they won't get eaten by wolves." I chuckled.
"So, lunch with these guys and then we go home, what do you say?"
"No," Tommy said in a deep voice and smile disappeared from my lips. "I actually have plans for us today, so if you can skip the lunch today and have it some other day, maybe?" he tried to sound nicely, but he was angry, I could tell. I just didn't know why.
"Uhmmm," I flipped my hair nervously. "Okay, I just, I guess I forgot my phone inside, so I'll be back quickly. Sorry guys, next time," I gave them a smile and went to the building."Now listen to me, you little brat," Tommy suddenly entered between them and caught the guy to his collar under the neck. "You touch her, you look at her inappropriately, you just think about her in a way, that is forbidden to you and I will smash that
self-satisfied smirk from your face. Understood?"
"Y- yes, sir," student nodded quickly and when Tommy let him go, he hid behind his friends, who got far away from them.
"Good boy," Tommy whispered threateningly. And in a second expression in his face changed and he gave me that sweet smile.
"Let's go," I smiled back. So, maybe he is not upset, maybe I misread him badly before. Oh, that smile - I thought and we left students behind."Are your eyes closed?" he kept assuring himself, when we were entering my apartment.
"Will you be naked, when I open them?" I giggled and we stopped. I was sure we passed the kitchen and we were standing in a doorway to the big room. He was standing behind me and whispered to my ear: "Open your eyes now."
