"What is this place?" I looked around, when we got out from the bus.
"You'll see," Tommy smiled and we entered the area behind the town.
"Barbed wire?" I asked suprised, when I noticed the high fence. "What is going on?"
"Hello, welcome to our center for wild animals," woman my age welcomed us with a smile. "It's nice to see you, Shani. We missed you here," she looked at me. "Tommy told me what happened to you. I'm glad you are okay. My name is Caroline and we worked here together before the accident and if you miss dogs and animals in your  life now, maybe you'll find out why."
"Uhm, okay," I watched her and I wasn't able to say more then this. Excuse me? Me working in this place? My father would never allowed me to work with animlas for living.
I was thinking and we went through a corridor.
"You know, they don't know me the way, they know you, so I'll be there," Tommy disappeared in a small room and Caroline took me to the room with a big mirror on the wall.
"Wait here, okay?" she smiled.
"Okay," I looked around, having absolutely no clue, what is going on.
She came back, followed by a few dogs. But, wait...
"Oh my god, wolves?" I sighed and froze. "What...What should I do?" I whispered, death in my eyes.
"Relax,"  Caroline came to me and every single wolf started to sniff my legs, hands and they started to jump on me.
"They are saying hi, aren't they? They know me?" I couldn't help myself and I sat on the floor and let them to lick my face.
"You don't remember them, but they recognized you. They were born a year ago and because they mother didn't make it, you raised them, fed them, you spent nights here with them, just to be sure, they will have everything they need."
"This is so incredible! Just look at them! How happy they are!" I couldn't stop shouting and laughing at the same time.
"Okay, time for another guest," Caroline led the pack of young wolves away and she came back with one more.
"This will be harder, but I think you two will make it," she said calmly. "Just follow your instincts, Shani. Talk to me, what does this wolf says?"
"It's she, right?" I asked and Caroline nodded yes.
"She's a little bit tense, but she's licking her mouth and avoiding the eye contact. So, I guess she doesn't want to fight. She's a little bit nervous, too."
"Very good, she might sense another guest, she met Tommy before, but he is still a stranger to her. And she also sense, you are a little bit nervous too. How do you feel?"
"I am afraid, to be honest. Because the way she checks on me is, uhmmm.... She feels my fear and I believe it makes her uncomfortable," I said sadly and I turned my head away and licked my lips.
She saw it and she came closer to me. I put my hand on the floor in front of me and licked my lips again. She came closer and began to sniff.

It took just few seconds before she ended up in my arms and I hid my face in her fur and started to cry.
"Hello, baby girl. I don't know your name, but I feel like I have found another missing piece of my soul," I whispered to her and she started to dance like crazy around me and did the happy dance.

"I leave you two alone. I'll be there, in the room behind the mirror. If you need me, just say it, okay?" Caroline smiled and left.

"You can come here anytime you want, Shani. Doors are open for you daily and nightly. Here is my number, call me if you have questions," Caroline gave me her visit card.
"Thank you," I put it to my wallet and suddenly I heard wolves howling.
"They are calling you," she looked at me. "Don't let them wait too long."

"You are so quiet," Tommy spoke first after some time.
"I am just trying to figure out, what happened," I said without looking at him. "It was so... real."

"Listen," I looked at him after we got from the bus and we stood on the street. "I need some time to process all the things you said, all the things you have shown me. I have a terrible chaos in my head now," I started to cry.
"I shouldn't bring you there. Was it too much?" he sighed and closed his eyes. "I'm sorry, Shani."
"Don't apologize, silly... This was the most beautiful thing you could do. I am lucky to have a friend like you."
