Chapter 13 – Crotchet
"Airee, I think there's something that you need to tell us." Toru said, his arms crossed on his chest with his gaze directly towards Airee, waiting for her to say something.
Airee knew something was up. The fact that the 5SOS lads went out to have dinner by themselves and that Ryota and Tomoya sat on either side of her on the dining table when it was always Adrian and Ritsu, and that Toru and Taka were directly in front of her. She sighed.
"Why didn't you tell us about Calum?" Taka asked.
"I didn't tell you because I knew you were going to make a big fuss about it. And look, I was right. But believe me, whatever happened years ago with Calum and I will stay from the past. I don't want to bring it up again. I'm trying to be civil with him for all of your sake." She explained.
"But still, you shouldn't have kept this from us." Adrian said softly.
She looked down.
"Because he already left me and that's why I thought it wasn't important. I buried that part of me so deep so I wouldn't have to be in pain anymore, so I would forget. But fate is so cruel, she let us meet again."
"What did he do?" Ritsu asked. "We wouldn't be able to help you if we don't know what happened. But if you don't want to tell us, we understand." He added with a smile, knowing that Airee's wall will crash down and she will end up telling them everything.
"We were best friends." She started. "Completely inseparable." She smiled sadly as she looked up to meet their gazes.
"Okay, the camera's ready."
"Great, get on with it." Calum said as he adjusted his bass guitar that sat on his lap and waited for Airee to grab her guitar and sat beside him.
"Hey, it's Calum and Airee-"
"Airee and Calum." He cut her off, correcting her.
"Your name should come first'cause you're older." Airee replied.
"Your name first 'cause it starts with an A." Calum argued back.
Airee rolled her eyes at Calum and looked at the camera again.
"Anyway, here's our cover of Remembering Sunday by All Time Low." She smiled at the camera before strumming the chords of the intro and then Calum started singing while plucking the strings on his bass.
Airee played the last chord and let the sound ring before smiling at the camera and saying, "That sounded good."
"It did." He agreed and let his bass stand on the side before standing up and pressed the button on the camera to stop it from recording.
"I'll just cut out some bits and I'll upload it to our channel soon." Airee said before holding out her hand and Calum handed her the camera, pulling out the SD card and immediately slipping it into her laptop's card reader.
"So, you guys did covers back then?"Taka asked.
"Yeah. We did." She nodded, before taking a bite of her food again.
"Are those videos still on youtube?" Adrian asked.
"I deleted them already." She shrugged.
"So,what happened after?" Tomoya asked, because he felt that there's more to the story than what she already told them.
Airee sat on the hospital bed as her mum was out to get her food since she hated hospital food with a burning passion. This is her second time to be admitted in the hospital for this month since she was attacked by her asthma again. Of course, she gets asthma attacks more than she ever wanted but there are times that it was worse than the usual, to the point that her parents had to take her to the hospital to ensure her safety. She thought of a series of words to fit into what she was writing.
