Ashton Irwin P.O.V

I wake up to a knocking at the door and slowly walk towards it. I open it to see Sophie standing. "Hey ash" she says and hugs me. "Hey Sophie" I say awkwardly. "Uh Calum's in bed" I say and she nods. "I'll go wake him" she says and walks past me. I sigh and run a hand through my hair. Why the hell did this happen to me? What did I do to deserve this? I am about to sit on the couch when Alex burst through the door in tears. "JAMES ISNT WKAING UP!" She screams and I jump to my feet and follow her to her room. "KATNISS" I scream and bang her door on the way past. When I get to the room Harry is checking for a pulse and Ashton is standing at the side of the bed. "Harry get Cato , I'll check him" I say and Harry nods while running off. I widen my eyes. "Alex call an ambulance now !" I say somewhat calmly. She grabs the phone and dials and waits for an answer. "Hi you need to come to the pearl hotel , room 101. My friends not waking up" she says sobbing hardly. I hear a murmured voice and Alex shakily sighs. I grow even more worried by the minute. "bye" Alex says and hangs up. "They're on their way" She tells me and I nod. By now everyone is in the room. Cato is crying. His condition hasn't improved but it hasn't gotten worse so I suppose that's not to bad. "Everyone stand back" someone shouts coming into the room. I back off and James is put in a stretcher. "JAMES!" Alex screams and starts sobbing while Ashton holds her and they both cry. "What's going on?" Calum asks and walks through the door. "James wouldn't wake up" I say in monotone and he gasps. "Let's go to the hospital" Alex says and everyone nods. We all rush out the hotel and just walk quickly to the hospital. It's only down the road. I hope James is okay.

Alex P.O.V

I start to run to the hospital with Ashton and Cato. James better be okay. When we get there we rush to the main desk and ask for James. They tell us to wait in the waiting room. We nod and rush to it before collapsing on the couches. "This is all my fault!" I cry and Ashton looks at me. "How?" He says curious. "Last nights when everyone went to bed Ashton asked me to try and heal him. So he could walk" I say and tears flow down my face. "We tried it and nothing happened and then we went to sleep. When I woke up he wouldn't. It must have been me" I say loudly and break down crying again. "What" Cato breathes out and I widen my eyes. "Cato I'm sorry but he was so desperate for me to help him and I wanted to help him" I sob out. Cato just stays silent and the only sound you can hear is me crying. "What's wrong?" Clove asks as everyone walks in. "Nothing" Cato says dismissively and I put my head in my knees. "Family of James" someone says and my head shoots up. "He'll be fine. He just had lack of oxygen going to his brain. He's awake now and he wants to see Alex" she says and I stand up and sigh shakily. I follow the nurse and she leads me to a room. "Wait" she says as I'm about to walk in. "It says that James is paralysed on his records" the nurse says and I nod. "But this morning he was standing up. I think with some help we may be able to get James walking" she says and I gasp. "Thank you so much" I say and hug her. She's slightly taken back but hugs me back. "It's my job sweetie. Now you go on in. Who's his brother?" She asks. "Cato Hadley" I say and she nods. "Thanks" she says and walks off. I breathe in and walk through the door and see James sitting on the side of the bed. "It worked" he says grinning and I nod. "Yeah it did but you nearly died!" I say loudly and he bites his lip. "I know but they said that I can walk again. Do you know how amazing that is ?" He asks. "Well yeah but I'd rather have you in a wheelchair than dead" I say and he smiles sadly. "Alex you made my dream come true. I've always wanted this. To be able I walk. I can be normal. People will like me" he says and I sigh. "James people already liked you. You didn't need to change for anyone" I tell him. "I wanted to Alex. Do you know what it's like to feel like the full world is against you?" He says and I chuckle. "Yes I do know." I say and he nods. "That's how I felt my full life. That I wasn't good enough and I was being punished. But now I can walk. Maybe even run. I can do normal things without any struggle." He says and I nod while hugging him. "You scared to me to death" I mumble. "I'd never leave you" he says and I smile. "Good" I mumble and kiss his cheek. He smiles at me and I giggle. "What?" I ask. "I'm so happy you did this" he says and I smile. "Me too. It's good to see you happy" I say and nudge his shoulder. "James!" Cato says walking in. "Cato!"he says mocking him. Cato rolls his eyes and hugs his brother. "You okay?" He asks and James nods. "Never better" he says and winks at me making me laugh. "The nurse said that you are going to spend today learning how to walk and you can leave tomorrow night" Cato says and James groans. "I hate hospitals" he says and everyone laughs. "Don't we all" everyone says in unison and we laugh again. "Okay so who's staying with me?" James asks and everyone looks around them trying to avoid eye contact. "I'll stay" I say laughing and giving James a High five."me too" Ashton says and I laugh. "You don't really have a choice" I say and he rolls his eyes at me. "Okay you guys can go if you want" James says and everyone nods. "I haven't even got any trousers on" Luke says and we burst out laughing. "I have no shoes" Michael groans. "Or t-shirt .You know I'm surprised they let us in" Katniss says slinging an arm over each of them and walking them out the door. Everyone follows and soon we are left alone. "Guys I have to tell you something" he says as soon as the door shuts. "I've not been completely honest with who I am. Not even Cato knows this." James says. "What?" I say. "I'm a uh vampire" he says casually and I widen my eyes. "But you're. Well you were paralysed" I say. "Yeah. Your point is?" He says. "Are you sure?" I say and he laughs while fangs come out and his eyes go red. "He's sure" Ashton says. "This doesn't make sense. Vampires are dead. They don't have heart beats and they don't breathe" Alex says. "Okay first of all. I'm clearly not dead. Secondly this is not twilight and thirdly let me finish" he says and I nod. "Well I'm sort of a prince" he says and I shake my head. "So our new friend. Who I just cured is a vampire prince?" I say and he nods. "Okay just cause I'm in a wheelchair doesn't make me weak." He says. "Catos parents , they aren't my parents and he knows that. But it's better for everyone if Cato doesn't know. My real dad and mom sent me to live with them. My mother knows I'm not her child and brought me in when Cato was 5 and I was just born. She protected me and helped me. So my mom and dad know that I'm not their child but Cato doesn't. My real dad ......he is the Alpha of Vampires" he tells me and I run a hand through my hair. "Of course he is" I say. "So what vampires is he the alpha for?" I ask. "Uh all vampires" he says. "He's the highest you can get and he sent me to the real world because of my condition. I was in no condition to fight. So Catos mom was already in the real world. She was married and in love and she was informed of everything and promised Cato was not to know. I know what your thinking. How did Cato not know I wasn't his brother? Well that because I was sent when I was a baby. I've met my real parents lots of times and I love them. They love me too but I couldn't be with them. Nobody else is vampires in my house. And now that I can walk. I can go back to my real family. Learn how to fight. How to hunt and I will be the prince. I will still go to school and hang around with you guys but I'll be introduced to the vampires and I will be back where I came from." He says and I nod trying to process this. "Okay. So your mom and dad aren't really your real parents. You know your real parents and they rule the vampires. Your a vampire prince. You have fangs and red eyes and you can go back to your real family?" I says and he nods. "Oh one last thing. My name isn't actually James" he says. "What is your name? Ashton asks. "Silvano" he says. "Which means from the forest" he says and I nod. "So Silvano, when are you going to tell Cato?" I ask him and he almost chokes on air. "Uh about that" he says and I shake my head. "You have to tell Cato." I say. "He'll freak" he says. "Dude. Your brother is magic. He has powers that can heal people, kill people and save people. He has no right to freak out" I say and James laughs. "Wait can I call you James?" I say and he nods. "Let me call my mom" he says and I hand him my phone. He dials a number and waits a few seconds before talking. "Hey mom" he says. "Uh I told my friends about me." He tells her. "No it's alright they're the mockingjays" he says. "One of them cured me. I can walk" he explains. "Yes I'm going to tell my father" he exclaims. "Fine I'll tell him too" he huffs. "Bye" he says an hangs up. "Well this should be good" he says.

"Guys sit" James says. He decided it would be easier to tell everyone at once rather then individually. "What's up?" Cato says. "The sky" James says making Cato roll his eyes. "Or is it down because were in Australia and it-" Cato says. "Cato! It's important. Believe me" I say and James glares at me. He learned how to walk and after a few days he should be normal with it. "What's up?" He says once again and James sighs. "Let's just start with my name." He says. "It's not James. It's Silvano" he tells Cato and he raises an eyebrow. "What?" He says confused. "The more you ask questions the longer this will take. Just hear me out" Silvano says. I like that name. I'm going to start calling him that. "Sorry" Cato mumbles and Silvano sighs. "Okay so I'm not your brother either. When I was born into the vampire world I was paralysed , so they sent me to your mom and dad" he say looking at Cato. "You were five at the time and I was a baby so you assumed I was just born from your mom. My real father is the alpha of all vampires, making me a prince. I changed my name and was raised by your mom but I always knew. I've visited my real parents. We're pretty close and now that I can walk. I can go back to them. I am really 13 years old. No older but I will live forever. It's one of my powers. Uh just like you guys. Your parents aren't anything. They're human but your mother took me in nonetheless." He say sighing at the end and everyone stares at him blankly. "Whe-ho-wh- huh" Katniss says and I laugh. "He's a vampire prince , called Silvano which means from the forest FYI. He's not Catos brother , Catos parents aren't his parents and he's going to live forever just like us" I say and she nods very slowly. Cato still looks dumbstruck so I glare at him making him snap out of it. "Right. Okay" Cato says. "ARE YOU FRICKEN KIDDING?!" He shouts and I widen my eyes. "I can't believe you lied" he says. "I had to!" Silvano shouts. "To protect you" he says. "I don't need protecting" he says and Silvano laughs. "It was back when you didn't have powers Cato. You would be in danger" Silvano says sighing. "Did dad know?" Cato says and Silvano nods. "They both knew. They both wanted to protect us, so they changed my name and raised me in the mortal world" he says and Cato shakes his head. "This is unbelievable. Have you ever bitten anyone. You know sucked blood?" He says and Silvano looks down. "What?!" Cato shouts. "Cato I had to. I was full vampire when I was born, my first drink was the blood of a human" he says and I widen my eyes slightly. "I needed it to survive. I drink animal blood now. You know rabbits , rats , anything really" he says and everyone nods. "I don't even know what to say" Katniss says and everyone agrees. "And how can you walk now?" Katniss says. "I cured him" I say and everyone looks at me.

Cato P.O.V

I can't believe he kept this from me. I can't believe they all did. How can he go from James. My paralysed and dyslexic little brother to a blood sucking prince called Silavno. It just doesn't make sense. Everything I thought I knew was a lie. All to protect me. This is just so shocking. "And Cato. Related by blood or not. You'll always be my brother" Silvano says and I smile slightly. "Of course" I say and hug him. I wish I could go back. To when I was delusional and had no idea of any of this. But he is right. We'll always be brothers.

(A/N) do you ever read something and think. This all makes sense now. Well I had that experience today. I read a post on Instagram and it said. "I recently read a book on loneliness. One of the chapters said that people with few friends will often obsess over a celebrity or sports figures online and on TV to make up for their lack of social life" it just made me stop and I was like 'Kayleigh this is so true'. I've been thinking about it all day and i know it may not relate I allot of people it did to me. I mean I have friends but I only have a few and I have a lack of social life. So this post jut made me understand everything. Anyway hoped you liked the chapter and I'm sorry for rambling on and on. I'll stop now. Love you 💝😍
