What Happened?

Katniss P.O.V

After spending a few more hours here we decide to leave. It is currently 9 pm so it will be about 11 by the time we get to the car. I don't think any of us thought that one through. So me and Peeta are holding hands and walking through the forest and I have Sams leash and he is walking in front of us. Peeta runs his thumb over the back of my hand and I smile slightly. He is so sweet and caring. He glances over at me and smiles. "What?" I ask him curiously. "Nothing" he says but the smiles is still there. I roll my eyes and keep walking. It's starting to get cold so as you can probably tell I'm freezing because I am wearing shorts and a crop top with no jacket and sandals. "Here take this" Peeta says and hands me his jumper. I put it on and Peeta puts an arm around me. "Better?" He asks and looks at me. I peck his lips. "Better" I say smiling and he hugs me closer. "How long have we been walking?" I ask. "About an hour and a half" he says. "It's really dark, I feel like I'm in some horror movie" I say and he laughs. "Well we're nearly there" he says kissing my cheek. I nod and we keep walking but stop when Sam does and starts barking like crazy. "Great" I say. "We're all going to die" I say to Peeta and he just shakes his head. We hear the sound of running and panting coming towards us but it's not an animal, it sounds like a person. I squint my eyes and look into the trees and see a figure hurdling towards us. I close my eyes and go closer to Peeta and he puts an arms around me and just as I am about to scream Finnick jumps out of the trees out of breath and panting. "I thought you went home and thanks for the mini heart attack" I say and he just leans against the tree. "I was , then I had to come get you cause you wouldn't answer your phone and you need to get back." He says out of breath. "What happened!" I ask. "It's Alfie. He is crying and screaming and in wolf form. We're afraid incase he hurts someone." He says. "Right" I say. "Why didn't they send Cato , he has super speed" I ask him and he looks up , sighs and looks back down. "I don't know" he says. "Right well you two drive back and I'll run" I say. "How are you going to do that?" Finnick asks. "Super speed" I say. "Yeah but what if someone sees you?" He asks me. "I'll turn into something. What runs fast?" I ask. "Why don't you fly, turn into a bird and fly" Finnick says and I nod. I think about a bird in my head and I can feel myself transforming. I spread my wings and look up way Finnick and Peeta who nod and start running towards the car. I take off of the ground and start to fly through the air. This is pretty fun. I flap my wings as hard as I can as I hover over district 12, then 11 , then 10 and before I know it I'm in District 4. I fly down and land but apparently that's harder than take off so I end up falling. I change back into myself and run into the house to hear a high pitched howling noise and everybody surrounding a wolf who I'm guessing is Alfie. I push through everyone until I see him. He is thrashing around. "Did anyone call Alex?" I ask and they all shake their heads. "Someone please do" I say. Annie pulls out her phone and calls her. "She says she'll come over" Annie says as she hangs up. "Call Peeta and tell him to pick her up" I say and she nods and dials Peetas number.

After waiting half an hour with Alfie's state not changing Alex and Peeta burst through the door with Finnick and Sam following closely behind them. Alex runs over and takes her jacket off while pushing through to get to him. When she sees him she sighs. "Can you all leave for a minute?" She asks and we all nod and head to the kitchen. We hear Alex's voice and then singing and then Alfie's voice. "How does she do that!" Nicole says and we all shrug and head out. Alex is hugging Alfie who has tear stained cheeks. We all look at each other and then at Alfie again. "What just happened?" I ask and Alfie's head shoots up. Alex glances at him and smiles sadly. "He's just upset, he'll be fine" she says and wipes a stray tear that fell. He smiles at her slightly. "I'm going to bed" he says and Alex stands up. "Be back in a minute" she says and follows him. We all sit down and Sam starts barking. Everyone turn and looks at him as I pick him up. "Oh my gosh that is the cutest thing ever!" Annie squeals and takes him off me. "Hi" she says and Sam barks and this leads to a ten minute conversation between Annie and my dog. I roll my eyes. I guess it will be kind of cool that I can talk to my dog.
